True say he gives the ball away in an unforced error at least once a game but that 99 pace is too vital. He could literally through ball mbappe 1 on 1 and would still recover , his pace is a joke

I think a big part is the togetherness instead of being seperated by club alliegences and obviously skill as well but I think the squad has a whole different energy about it. Southgate choosing a TEAM instead of trying to shoehorn in the best players by playing them out of position like older managers is also a big thing I think.
Whatever it is I'm happy and hope we win obviously.

Absolutely class from Kyle. I've never been one for being drawn into the noise and the hype around the edge of football - the endless interviews, the rolling news etc. - chiefly because, over the years, almost every interview I've ever heard or seen has come to resemble the one before, or the one after, and football-speak has for a long time sounded like politician-speak -- no one dares (or hasn't been given licence) to speak genuinely. I'm not sure what has happened over the last few years, but gradually it feels like we have a group of players who truly understand not only what it means to represent their country, but what it means to set an example - and Kyle Walker is right up there. I don't like going overboard on praise, but his performance against Denmark was absolutely top drawer. He was everywhere. And listening to him in this interview, it all seems to make sense. Gareth Southgate, and whoever else he has around him, has for the first time in my lifetime (I'm 34) seemed to strike exactly the right tone between realism, fun, openness, hard work, humility, and raw talent. I've honestly loved every minute of this tournament and I can honestly think of no better way to end it by winning the whole thing. It's the first time in my three decades supporting England that I feel like the players really and truly deserve to bring it home. Roll on Sunday!

Was worried about Walker for a period when Southgate seemed to be obsessed with Trent, James and crossing fullbacks post- 2018 World Cup. Glad that he was brought back from the cold and re-established in the position. His experience, reading of the game and recovery pace is indispensable.
