    Hi Steve, if I’m using a shimano 681 jewel rod 2-4 kg graphite rod with 6lb ultra 8 fireline, which reel would cast longer? A 1000 or 2500 size shimano reel?

      literally no difference between the two. you could throw a 4000 reel and still achieve the same distance. its line lure weight and rod action that effects how far you go.

      And I buy a 1-4 kg rod for whiting and this still available f fishing bud
      The 2-4 kg is just a tad too heavy and stiff. Jmo

      Although it doesn’t make much difference a 2500 does because the spool is generally longer than 1000 size

      @@danjohns5961 wrong. Bigger diameter spool casts better. 2500 over 1000 any day of the week.
