Just wondering if you have ever done anything like this before? Have either of you ever built caravan's. Never gets Old Mate. Look forward to hearing every time and kill myself laughing.
Certainly handy to have a caravan builder when you’re needing van work done. That’s a huge battery, I was just googling about Custom Lithium today,. But only the 400ah. Love the way you’ve got the electrics all neat and together. Great job. Cheers Judy qld
Really interesting episode guys, I have really enjoyed watching the behind the scenes of what is involved with these exciting renovations works. I am interested to see how you go with sun reflection coming of the checker plate and if it affects on coming traffic and your own visibility. But as l said really gtrst job b
Always good watching you guys doing life and seeing your children enjoying those pies etc. Precious. Betha is going to be all spruced up soon. All the best in getting her ready for your mid August trip. By the way we have recovered from Covid. See you next video.
Like-I_um say, nothing negative, only positive power coming from the build this week 😊. Shoutout to customlithium for their support to you… Look forward to seeing that full frontal going on and sealing it up. Good to hear your sealing the wood 😊
A couple of things. 1 if you hadn’t mentioned about the mics I wouldn’t have notice, sounded ok to me. 2 had a bit of a giggle when you lost that bit of timber😅 Love what you are doing can’t wait to see it finished.
Hey guys some great progress right there, im so glad you decided on Victron for your componets, this gear is really just a step above everthing else.Nice setup.
That 560 amp battery is going to be a game changer for you plus your not the only one that puts something down then can’t find it depending where your heading in august we might be able to catch up for a cordial or two we will be heading back from up north
First do you know Alex used to build caravans?? What a kick ass build. Next you may need a nuclear plant to power Bertha. Alex don't promise something you may not deliver lol have a gr8 week guys love the build series
Very exciting guys, thanks for another great video. Wow 560Ah battery configured with bus bars; I'm envious. That's it I'm going for another 200Ah for 400 Ah total. Not sure how I'm going to fit enough solar on the roof.
This is one of the best applications of lithium battery. Imagine trying to lift or even fit 560amp/hr’s worth of AGM in that space! It’s friggin brilliant what you get as far as output for the weight of these things.
Probably a bit late to suggest now. But the divider you put next to the batteries - convert it into a door if you need more access to the batteries as any stage?
I wonder if Erin has actually seen any proof Alex used to build caravans? How much that battery weigh and how will it effect the overall weights? It's great watching you pair, an entertaining start to a Sunday here in the UK 👍
Cool ep and nice work guys. Just a question why did you not put a bit of sika in the sheets of ply and timber and the screws to help hold it all together on the corrugated roads.
It’s basically this recipe but I added some greens roast meats gravy powder at the end to thicken it up and give it more of a meat pie feel ☺️ www.taste.com.au/recipes/slow-cooker-braised-steak-onions-recipe/pa8v8eyh
Another great video... are you making up a fixed battery tray for the battery to sit in? being that heavy surely those straps are not enough to stop it sliding side to side?
Hi guys love the channel. Just one question:Are you going to put wood preservative on the wood.? You look as though you know what you’re doing. Did you ever build caravans.?
Thank you! We painted a sealer on the timber but hopefully we seal it well enough that it doesn’t even need it 😁 And yes I did but baffles me how you’d know that!
Looks great 👍 a big battery is the go , I'm worried tho with all these new laws coming out with lithium insulations they must be installed in a sealed box , that's not a sealed box or are older vans ok that's why I haven't gone down the lithium battery rd yet for my old van 🤔
From my understanding retrospective fits also come under the new rules/regulations. Batteries not allowed to be in the habitable space. There are a couple of really good explanations on a couple of CZcams channels.
@@nowornever_aus CZcams channel “ outech off grid” did a rundown on the regulations about 5months ago titled “electrical standards-what you need to know “. Worth a watch as it explains thing’s pretty good 😊
Hey guys, looking good. I wonder if you could just fit a Tesla house battery in a van, ours was $15000 all up and runs everything in the house? Looking forward to the next episode.
Looking like great progress. You may have already mentioned / featured your battery brand and set up but can you please remind me what you have done with that? Thanks in advance. EDIT: ok just saw the new battery (beast) but would be good to understand the inverter and panel system you have now. Thanks.
Hey mate! We went into detail in the original battery system install vid but essentially it’s all victron 3000w inverter charger 30amp dcdc 150/85 mppt
I know this i probably overkill but personally I would have built sheet galv steel tubs into the front compartments with drainage tubes. (Just incase you do get leaks) As I said probably massive overkill...
Hi guys. Could you tell us the following…. 1. Weight of the new 560 lithium battery 2. Can it be installed externally in the weather on your caravan where our existing 3 x 120 amp deep cycle batteries are positioned 3. Did you say they could make a variety of sizes and what is the physically size of your 560amp battery 4. Do you know when it would be available to the public Thanks guys. Bertha is coming along fine really well.
Thank you so much! For all those answers you will be best to ask customer lithium directly because I would hate to steer you in the wrong direction! You can find all their contact details here 👇 Customlithium.com.au
Hey guys, enjoying following your adventures and the reno, a question, what are you using for the 3mm lining, is it ply or MDF, and did you get it from Bunnings?

Not too sure so we’ll have to chuck it on the scales! Yes you would be spending quite a bit upgrading all the chargers as well wouldn’t you Thanks mate!
There’s so many different factors that it makes it hard to say! But my preference would be ally frame or sandwich panel but that’s also if you can afford it with the style and layout of van your chasing 👍🏻

I was literally yelling at the TV ‘ITS ON THE LADDER’, I saw it straight away. Another great episode. Thanks Erin and Alex.
😂 you should have yelled louder so we could hear!
Hey guys, I hope that 560ah Custom does everything you ever need it to do. It was a labour of love from us in the build shed. 🔋💪

I’m guessing fridge is getting a few volts from the solar - Does the factory have skylights?
No skylights but others are saying the big lights may be doing it

Fridge power is coming from your solar panels under those big lights. Flip the solar isolation off 😊
