  • The Arandis Town Council with directive from the State House through the office of the Governor, orchestrated a solemn yet poignant Moment of Reflection Fire Brigade Parade to honour the memory of the late President, Hage G Geingob. The parade, held on the streets of Arandis, served as a heartfelt tribute to commemorate his life and legacy today, 20 February 2024.
    Beginning at the Arandis Circle, opposite the Arandis Police Station, the procession made its way through the main street, resonating with somber dignity as it progressed towards its final destination, the Arandis Sports Stadium. Led by NAMPOL, the parade symbolized unity, respect, and gratitude towards the late President.
    In a display of solidarity and reverence, various organizations and members of the community participated in the procession. Among those in attendance were the MVA Response Team, Arandis Emergency Response Centre, Rossing Uranium Limited Fire Department, Swakop Uranium Fire Department, The Brotherhood Brass Band, NAMPOL (Namibian Police Force), dedicated Nurses from the Ministry of Health, NIMT (Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology) students and lecturers, as well as learners from the Learners Representative Council from all schools in Arandis. The presence of Arandis Town Council employees and the community further underscored the collective sentiment of remembrance and appreciation.
    As the parade culminated at the Arandis Sports Stadium, The Honourable Mayor, Risto Kapendah delivered a closing vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants for their unwavering support and commitment to honouring the late President's memory. His remarks encapsulated the significance of the occasion and highlighted the profound impact of President Geingob's leadership on the nation. He also emphasized that Dr. Hage G Geingob was a constitutionalist who always pushed a rationale of a united Namibian nation regardless of ethnicity, race, gender, and tribe.
    The Moment of Reflection Fire Brigade Parade not only served as a tribute to the late President but also as a reminder of the enduring values of unity, resilience, and respect that he embodied throughout his tenure. As the community of Arandis came together in solemn remembrance, they reaffirmed their collective commitment to upholding President Geingob's legacy and fostering a spirit of unity and solidarity that transcends boundaries.
    As the echoes of the parade fade into the horizon, the memory of President Geingob will continue to inspire and guide generations to come, leaving an indelible mark on the fabric of Namibian history as he was indeed, The People’s President.
