Saw James three times in concert. I like the way he just stands or sits and plays rather than putting on a show.
Well I guess we need to ask "Do we go to concerts to hear music? Or do we go to see lasers and big explosions?"

@@Tessmage_Tessera Yes! The real musicians are the ones who could do a two-hour bar set anytime if they chose to, even if they're such big stars now that they never do.
I have a sinking suspicion that some of them, like Elton John more than James Taylor, loves his elaborate costumes, his big fancy pyrotechnics, and some of that large-scale diva pageantry... but even then, you also know you could take him out of a stadium of 50,000 people, put him in a dingy bar with a 4-piece band and have him play for an audience of 40 people, and he could still rock the roof off even without all his costumes and gadgets. James could do a bar show too. That's why the arena shows are so good.

Thank you late show. I’m a huge JT fan but was disappointed that viewers watching from home could only see his musical performances for a few seconds. JT is a legendary musician.

You are actually out of touch…James tours with a band that includes horns, several backup singers (including his son Henry). All the musicians are top notch including some who are legendary within the industry. I guarantee JT was quite happy to play with this group of quality musicians
@@billbitterman9487 As it happens, I know all that. I'm not so much out of touch as old old old and happy in my reminiscing of when I was just a young slip of a thing. I'll confess to my love of Mud Slide Slim. Suspenders and all. I'm quite fond of Blood Sweat and Tears and their very brassy sound. For me it's more about the memories: where and when and with whom. For me it's about the local kid who made songs about where I live. That's the James sound I love. New England roots. Fenway Park. Bless me, I do not mind being out of touch in many ways, these days. I'm a happy, crotchety old New Englander woman. I like what I like. Peace. ✌️❤️

For real. He's on break every month just about. It's a bit obscene considering the other late night shows have managed to figure out how to do it.
Might be a personal family issue. I miss him too but life events do happen and he's allowed to take time off without having to explain to his fans why. He's always been good to us. I just think we should give him the benefit of doubt that he's gone so long for good reasons that are none of our business.
