I've owned the whole weebill family since the LAB, they're the inventors of the true sling mode and that move is integral to my work once you're able to pull it off as easily as you can with the weebills, but I have also used pretty much every gimbal out there and the one feature I really, really love about DJI is the adjustable roll axis arm. It makes it super easy to achieve perfect balancing, and I was really bummed out to see weebill lose its iconic form factor, but also omit this very important adjustment option once again. If I'm gonna lose the perfect sling capability, touch screen and still no roll adjustment, I might as well just switch to the RS3 this time.

Hi Miguel! Thanks for watching this one. You know I should have listed "two handler". They are also common. Now that I think of it, if you are good with using the left hand towards the top of the Weebill 3 and right hand on the tripod, this gimbal is for you. Keep that coupon around. Should be good for a long time!

Excellent! Very informational and very funny review. I know you are probably working on your comparison video with the Dji rs3, but I’m trying to figure out whether to get to Weebil 3 or RS3 and how important the underslung handles are. I’m an indie filmmaker and pick up gigs here and there.

Hey Se! Super good and in-depth review. Really interesting to hear your thoughts on the WEEBILL 3. We love it so far and one of the biggest advantages for us has been how light and compact it is. You can always add the underslung handle and the 'butt' :D if you need it, but just the bare-bones set up is super light and compact and the 10th gen stabilisation seems to work really well.
Bravo ZHIYUN! Se Park is on point. The wrist rest really makes some difference. Adding a quick releaser for the handle should be a nice try as Se Park mentions 😁
Great review Se! I also agree with the underslung handle not being strong enough. I think I am 'keep the underslung handle in there at all times' kinda guy.

I know the feeling! The fear that anytime the device might shut off autimatically because it ran out of battery! Hopefully soon they'll have detachable batteries too like in the RS3!
I love the new WB3 design but I'm really missing the underslung, the quick release was my joy ride, maybe WB4 would include a color LCD Screen and the original WBL underslung design. By the way this review is exactly what I needed to see about the WB3. Thanks!
Thanks for the review. I have ordered this one. One thing in your review worries me is I have A7S3 with smallrig cage as well. And with 24-70 2.8GM version 1 so it’s heavier. Preferably I would also need to attach a shotgun mic on it. Would this gimble work with my setup? Thanks

@@SePark Had to jump ship after the 1st Weebill broke. I wanted to get Weebill 2 but that flip out screen was more a gimmick than a useful tool to be honest. Coming back home to Zhiyun with this one if the new DJI offering is going to be more of the same.

Used to do quick release, but I bought a handle from uurig so I can do vertical videos on it!
UURIG for the win then. I feel like Zhiyun is capable of making a beast of a quick release. One that can do vertical, arca, and Manfrotto... 😁 I would geek over that!

To be honest, I kinda liked the design of that self-contained display of the WB2, but this new WB3 has a light, which will help me shoot at night. Also, I saw the RS3 and I have to say I was really surprised by that auto-unlock setting they have. So that these made more difficult for me to choose. But if only look at the cost effectiveness aspect, I declare the Zhiyun is still better.👍😍

Hi, just checking if this has the same problematic issue like the Weebill S, with the roll axis tilting (horizon tilt) to one side during pan/follow mode? It's never ending issue that never got resolved till date.
Hi! I didn't have much issues with my Weebill S with that issue, but yes horizontal tilt issue is a thing with lot of the gimbals. This new Weebill 3 isn't immune to that problem. I can't say for certain since I have the pre production model. This gimbal does allow you to fine tune that but I understand you want the gimbal to do that automatically.
I think the older weebill s got the design about right... they should have just added bluetooth support, arca compatible plates, a couple of custom buttons, wheel to the front, PD charging to the camera, auto locks (and if they really must the built in LED torch & mic)
Definitely a quick release guy. Pretty unfortunate that they compromised the underslung feature. That’s what made the wheebil unique compared to DJI
Same. They have all the ingredients. They just gotta mix it right!
seems like the Weebill 2 just came out. I feel like I still want the Weebill 2 over Weebill 3. Looks like biggest this I'll miss out on is the battery life and the wrist rest.

Thanks for a great review. I've been watching you since I got serious about finally getting my first gimbal which has only been a couple weeks now. I see they dropped the flip out screen from the Weebil 2, but you don't address that. Was it jus kind of a gimmick? I was looking at getting the 2 when I saw that the 3 had just been released. Since I've never had a gimbal before, I'm not sure which way to go. I would be using it with a Fujifilm X-T4. Your thoughts?
Hi, that’s awesome to hear. Thank you. The flip out screen on the Weebill 2 was great for menu navigating. They got rid of it so they can make a gimbal that can do up to 21 hr on a single charge. The flip out screen does eat a lot of energy when flipped out. If you see a really good price for Weebill 2, it would be a good balance between motor power and value. At Weebill 3 price point you’re getting into the DJI RS3 territory. Haven’t tested RS3 to be able to recommend it but Weebill 2 will handle XT4’s weight well.
Compared to the external microphone sold on the market, what price range does it show similar performance?
how would you mount a monitor on this Weebill? I've always used Zhyiun's Wifi module on my phone, but there doesn't seem to be a place to install a monitor on it
Hey Eder, there are only two 1/4 20 mounts on this gimbal. One is taken up by the wrist rest and the other is taken up by the sling handle. You would need to give up one to mount the monitor properly . We'll see if third party will pick up on this limitation and make a sling handle with mounting solutions. I appreciate you watching and asking questions.
7:00 ok a lot of battery, but do you charge the camera from the gimbal? :) That was my point with the Weebill 2 and with the 3 when I saw it. And you are not using MF motor right? It draws power from the gimbal too... we need swappable batteries.
Hi Simeon, no for that particular shoot, I did not charge the camera and did not use the MF motor. You're right, I wasn't comfortable draining my gimbal battery knowing I couldn't swap it if I needed to.

Hi Sumedh, I think of Weebill 3 as not of a vlogging gimbal, but an all around good gimbal that can pull off vlogging well. I liked it because I was able to go from filming b-rolls quickly to vlogging when I needed to say couple lines. Sometimes someone will say something I didn't expect and it will also capture those. The mic isn't as good quality as a shotgun mic, but it does the job for capturing those rare moments and the ambience. If you travel a lot tho, it is a lot harder to pack this gimbal away compared to Weebill S. So it's going to come down to your budget.
As someone who needs to film my dogs with underslung, Ithink I'll stick with the weebill S quick release.
Now that’s a filming niche and a definite need for underslung. I still refuse to let go of my Weebill S 😄
Overall - best review of this product so far :)! All of my suspicions about it were covered and I was right - I will buy a backup Weebill-S or maybe go DJI next time which will be sad because I like the Weebill-S but they changed the concept of the new ones...

I wonder how much of a price drop Weebill S is going to go through. I hope they bring back the signature Weebill shape back. It's an interesting market for gimbal for sure.
@@SePark the most important thing in a review is to be honest and give the viewers your point of view. If I want to see the spec sheet told by a youtuber there are many like it, but your point of view was much more interesting because you tested the thing in the field and you speak like a guy who will work with this tool not play around and go to the next item for a review.
Yes I hope that they will bring back the old shape because it was better for a compact gimbal. For a bigger model - not at all :). I was able to shoot things with the weebill-s that are impossible with bigger gimbal and the weight is very important to me because of the events that last longer and even if I am not using it all the time I still have to carry it with me... I think they lost it, from being the innovators in this market they became the budget option for DJI...

I am a quick release type of guy….I am also a lefty so I got screwed for this but honestly I am not looking to upgrade lol my Weebill S is still rocking me solid!

I was so close keeping my Weebill S axis lock intact. With RS3 out, I'm wondering what Zhiyun will do with the axis lock. Hard to compete with DJI care tho.
Have you updated the firmware to the latest version? For some reason I’m not getting any of that 1 bar battery left and lasting for hours when using the WB3 so far on long shoots…
Hey Jimmy, as of filming of this video I updated the firmware to the latest one that Zhiyun rep sent me. I can tell that the physical juice is clearly there. It's a long lasting battery. Just wished I could swap it out.

Hi! Yes the Manfrotto base plate fits on both. Just to triple check I just tried it for you, and the Weebill 3 quick release plate fits on Weebill S and Weebill 2 including the safety release feature. Hope that helps.

On B&H, the specifications say that the Weebill 3 uses 3 Li-Ion 18650 batteries. So, can they be changed?

you missed a 4th under slung style. inversion. which is my go to style with my Crane Plus. to describe it, earlier gen gimbals let you hang the gimbal upside down. or the legs are pointing straight up. I saw Jason Vong's review where a few clips showed him doing this with the Weebill 3. that clinched it and I ordered one.
You’re right. You’ll appreciate the IG Reel I just made with Weebill 3 inversion. (@iam_separk) I pushed it hard in that position and it performed. The only issue is you can’t turn on the gimbal upside down which older gimbals used to allow. I let Zhiyun know since that could also come in handy for car rigs.
@@SePark oh dang! You flipped the entire rig upside down and righted the footage in post?! I tried to do it just by swinging the grip to the right. Freaked the gimbal out a bit but worked. Maybe it would be happier if I powered off then flipped.
@@kiaiwee haha yeh alternative is to put the gimbal in POV mode, flip, and then put it in PF mode. Takes too long for wedding shoots. Current firmware on Weebill 3 won’t let you turn the gimbal on while upside down. It freaks out even more. They can easily fix that on a firmware so we’ll see.
Would this work on the Sony RX100 VII with controls (zooming, shutter/aperture control, taking photos, etc)?
Hi! Sony RX100 VII is currently not on the WEEBILL 3 compatibility list, you may consider CRANE M2S. 😉
This is like the tenth video where CZcamsrs were given the Webil 3 to say nice things about it and they all rave about the wrist support. But let’s be honest, it’s a screw on attachment. What’s really stopping Zhiyun from making a similar screw on accessory for a Webil 2, other than they prefer to sell you a Webil 3.

You're right. It's a long way. I don't like cords. Here is an idea. Built in HDMI in and out ports on a gimbal.

Zhiyun killed the weebill with this design.
The good thing is that the gimbal still seems pretty light and handy, compared to the bigger gimbals like the Crane or the Ronin. And that wrist support is just making the job much easier for filmmakers, especially at weddings.
Zhiyun always focuses on and cares about those ergonomic details and user experience for solo creators, while DJI on the other hand always shocks the audience with their "black magic" high tech. Which one do you prefer? guys
Haha that's a good summary. That auto axis lock was pretty shocking, but there is a cost difference. Also this does drop the previous Zhiyun gimbal prices down so you just got to chose what makes sense for you on your budget.

Hey Tao. Correct. Only attachment points are all on the bottom now (the two 1/4 20 mounts). If you attach the wrist rest and the handle, they are all taken up.

I loved my Weebill S but this seems like a major step backwards. Definitely more gimmicky & less professional. Hopefully the next Weebill does it better.
You got it. Weebill S is my favorite one although my gimbal is battle-scarred now. The new Weebill 3 seems bulkier than Weebill S, but if the handle and wrist rest really help to save my back and arm when shooting in sling mode, I think it is still worth trying.
In terms of design, the concept is good but the execution is the problem. Unfortunately it came out at the same time the DJI Ronins were released too and we all know, when it comes to product design, DJI gimbals are topnotch

@@nickmooreHDR I get it. They're trying to be innovative. You're right. It's definitely not a replacement for a professional mic or a pro light setup. It's better than not having it but I'm hoping they can build on this idea for the next innovation. Maybe a mini shotgun mic with a good wind muff on the gimbal arm.
