    I have had fun running Go cars on standard Carrera Evolution track. The bigger track keeps the cars further apart when racing, and allows the cars to slide out without the need for borders, that are necessary when racing 1/32 & 1/24 scale cars.

      @All-ScaleSlotCars  Před rokem +1

      Yes! I've done that too and they run great on the Evolution track. I was able to find a wireless Evolution control unit/controllers. The wireless Evolution seems to be very hard to find and out of production and I don't understand why Carrera hasn't made more of them.

    This is really cool. I feel like Go gets lost between the cracks of HO and 1/32. I have a couple sets and they are really fun and super affordable too. I definitely want to look into the wireless controllers, pit stop and plus.

      I agree, the 1:43 doesn't get enough love! Many of the cars available in 1:32 are also available in Go (and then some!), with just a slight loss in detail, but still beautiful. I think you'll be very happy with the upgrades. Thanks for watching and commenting, and keep me updated if and when you get them!

    I’ve been on Go Plus with the wireless controllers for a year or so - am reluctant to switch to 1/32 scale as I think would have to go back to wired controllers-which are not grandchild proof ! Are 1/32 wireless available at reasonable price?

    • @All-ScaleSlotCars
      @All-ScaleSlotCars  Před 3 měsíci

      First off, thank you so much for watching and reaching out! I'm not sure what you have so far in 1:32 scale or what you're willing to spend, but I can tell you that the wireless controllers are available and around $50US each. However, I would recommend getting your first two controllers with double-rechargeable bases (sold as a "duo" set for about $95US). If you really want to go all-out and may sometimes have up to six drivers, I'd recommend 6 up to wireless controllers. Once you have the duo chargers, you can have two controllers charging while others are in action. They charge quickly and the charge and battery both last a very long time (weeks to months per charge, depending on activity). If you have the Carrera Digital Control Unit, you would need to purchase just one wireless dongle for about $25US, and once you simply plug that in, you can set up a wireless connection for up to 6 controllers. If you're starting 1:32 from scratch, purchasing a wireless starter set is probably the way to go, as it will have all you need for probably the same price the individual pieces would cost, and as a bonus you'd get the beautiful cars. Either way, I'd highly recommend 1:32 Digital. Both my grandkids, who are now 4 and 3, have been driving on the track every time they come over, since each was 1 year old. They absolutely love driving the "big cars." I set their speeds to level 1 or 2 (10 being full speed, and 4-6 is probably where adults would feel the most comfortable), so they can completely hold the throttle and have fun changing lanes and making pit stops, without crashing. It really is an amazing product. Let me know if there's anything I can help you with, I'd be happy to.

    • @All-ScaleSlotCars
      @All-ScaleSlotCars  Před rokem

      Thank you for watching! I wouldn't recommend adding another piece or transformer. If you have a very long track and are experiencing drops in power at points furthest away from the transformer, I would suggest adding "power taps" at certain intervals around the track, such as every 10-15 track pieces or so. I have done this to my 1:32 track and it works well. Hopefully this helps and let me know if you need help installing taps if necessary.

    Based on your experience with the Go+ update I purchased it from Germany with the wireless controllers. Not cheap, but worth it. Your videos have been of great help and interest, thank you for taking the time to produce them. A question. What is the Chase mode? How does it operate? Is it a one player or two mode? Or, is it just a mystery? thanks.

      @All-ScaleSlotCars  Před 5 měsíci

      I am so happy to know that I've helped you discover this and are enjoying it! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the videos and for reaching out with your comments.
      As for the chase mode, it is a single player mode where you race against a ghost car (a car you previously set up to race on its own). You drive and set up a "ghost car" in the red lane in the normal fashion, but select "chase" mode when you hear the two chimes to lock in your ghost car timing.
      Then, press the PLUS+ button to activate the setting, engine sound will confirm.
      Place the ghost car being chased at the S/F line on the RED lane.
      Press PLUS+ button again to start the chase
      Wait for the start signal.
      The ghost car being chased (always the RED lane) will start right away.
      The chaser car (you, in the BLUE lane) must wait through a brief delay period to begin
      The race is over when the chaser has caught up with the ghost car and they both cross S/F line.
      The end of the race is signalized by a finish fanfare.
      The winning car may continue driving, the losing car is stopped after the S/F line
      (The winning car is additionally indicated by Pit Stop Lane flashing if piece is in use).
      It has been a while since I've used this, so hopefully this description allows you to accurately use this function!

      @PabloThiele I'm glad you were able to get them working, but sorry hearing your new issue! Am I understanding correctly, the problem is happening that the children push their controllers before the Countdown is finished, causing the system to stop? If that's the case, my grandkids (they are 4 and 3 years old) were doing the same. It was frustrating, but I made a game of it. I told them to wait for the Countdown to end before pushing down. They would purposely do it just to watch me pretend to "get mad" that they jumped the start. I would get mad and they would laugh, lol. I let them have their fun several times, and they loved it. But then I said let's do this for real, and they waited! Every so often someone will jump the start just to have a laugh, but they get it. I'm not sure of your children's age but I would say if they're around 3-5 they will probably get it soon. Hopefully this is the situation and you all can enjoy your time together!

    • @All-ScaleSlotCars
      @All-ScaleSlotCars  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Carrera did make a digital version for their Carrera Go series a few years ago, but they've since discontinued it. If you do happen to find an old digital Go set, be aware that you can only run 3 cars on the track simultaneously, as opposed to 6 cars on a digital 1:32. Have you looked into the secondary market for Carrera Digital? You may be surprised to occasionally find some good bargains on used sets. Places like Facebook Marketplace, Mercari, and Offer Up may sometimes have a listing for a good used set. And brand new Carrera Digital cars are a great bargain for what they are and offer, basically $50 USD for a beautiful car, really not much more than a brand new AFX or Auto World HO car.

      I'm happy you were able to find it! If you are referring to the power pack that plugs into the wall, yes that will work fine with Carrera Go and also Carrera Go Plus, as long as you have a more recent regular Go set. If you have a plug from a Go set that's older than five or so years, it will not work and you would need to purchase that to plug into your Plus piece.

      Don't worry about ignorance, I'm still learning about these myself Lol! I believe the 1:43 Digital has or will be discontinued by Carrera. This is an analog set up. In fact, if you have an existing regular analog Go set, you can just swap out the short straight (power supply) track with the Go Plus power supply track and you'll be good to go. If you get the Pit Stop track, you can then simply add it to your layout as well. Hopefully this helps. Thanks for watching and if you have any more questions, I'm here!

      @@WellingtonOaks757Va I researched this all during the covid era. The short answer is no. If you want mechanical lane changes in 1/43 you need the digital power section which effectively changes the Go track to digital. It is almost impossible to find in the US. They do exist and are still manufactured in Germany, but I still couldn't even find one overseas during the year I was looking. They run on a higher voltage than a go track uses. It is a little frustrating because you can still find these mechanical double lane changers in the US, but you can't use them without the conversion to digital. That being said, I did purchase this Go power section, (he's right , they are difficult to find. I haven't had the system up and running for quite some time, so I really can't recall if there was a noticeable difference in speed control between these and the analog controllers. I do remember that they were a lot of fun to drive with, and with no issues whatsoever. I'm sorry that I can't be any more specific than this, so I will try to break out both systems and test this out in the near future.

      @@All-ScaleSlotCars, It sounds like overall the upgrade to Go Plus is worth the price. I appreciate the fast response and your opinion. I mostly make RC car vids with my son, if we ever make a slot car vid with Go Plus I’ll put up a link to this review 👍🏾

    Stupid question: can you only run 1 ghost car the Carrera Go plus ? 😍😍

      No question is stupid at all, I appreciate your asking! Unfortunately, you can only race against 1 ghost car, whichever car you program for the red lane. I'm not sure of you're aware, but this is the first in a playlist of 4 videos I made about this. Here is the second video, which explains the ghost racing:

      Hopefully this helps. As you can see, racing the ghost car can be very challenging! Thank you for watching and enjoy the racing!

      you can run 2 ghost cars 1 in each lane it is a little trial and error to set up but can be done so cars race with out use of controllers but you can not add a third car under control of a controller as the rails are set for ghost mode and not the cars

      @@paulsharp5405 That's a great option for someone wanting to watch ghost car races and maybe even creating their own world of competitions! Thank you for calling this to our attention!
