Nuzlocke rules:
Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
No items in battle (only held)
No overleveling the next gym leader

This makes 9/18 types done, leaving Fire, Grass, Electric, Poison, Ghost, Ice, Bug, Rock and Dragon.

I'm doing a ghost monotype X run atm and it's pretty nice, though I didn't get to use any for the 1st gym. SuMo has gastly in the Hao'oli cemetery or whatever it's called though and I'm pretty sure that's before the first trial??? Maybe not, but SuMo Seems like the best option for a ghostlocke if there was one. Ghost is by far my favorite type, idk just they way they all have stories behind why they became ghost types compels me a lot.
i think a bug type sm/bw nuzlocke would be really cool, both gens introduce a lot of good bugs
only name theme i can think of though is prominent trainers that use them

I say for Electric, he should pick a theme of certain technology brands (namely Toshiba, Microsoft, Apple, etc.).

Well by that logic, unless the Universal Pokémon Randomizer is in effect, Electric isn't available early in the Hoennian games either as the first available encounter is in Route 110.

The first time I played through this game, the guy who gives you a nugget made me laugh at his pun, then sassed me for laughing at nuggets. It makes sense. He still gets me sometimes when I forget about him during a playthrough.

I think a good rule for dealing with mega evolutions is that you can only use them AFTER the enemy has activated their own mega evolution.

Mirror Shot has subpar accuracy but can lower accuracy in turn. Magnet Bomb is the never-miss move, but it's physical so it's not even that good on the Magne- line.
