- KINGSTON -- It can be tough when any officer retires from a police department, including four-legged officers from the K9 unit. Kingston Police in Luzerne County are retiring Stinger, an eight-year-old Doberman that recently got sick.
A Doberman - Human bond is set in stone and a powerful unconditional love that stays forever. A Doberman is a family member like a brother, a sister, a partner but never just a pet
They're not used as much, because they don't like to switch handlers.
I have only had Dobermans since I was born. For 60 years. We say - there are people dressed in fur. An incredible bond. best partner in the world. Cocoa (brown-red) 7 years and Duke (black-brown) 3 years are jumping around here!
Unfortunately there are too few Dobis due to the selection process, but in some cases the police and Miltaer still have some! And every official confirms that they are simply the best!
I lost mine at 8 years. Miss him everyday.

@@TheGorillafoot yeah enjoy it. My 4 year old female had an unexpected problem that ended her life 2 years ago. I got another a year ago. The best day is getting the pup. The worst is the last. They are family.
I love my Dobermans! would not have any other breed!

Karl Manning they don’t use German shepherds they use Belgian mallinois 💀
Because they don’t really have a thick coat of fur like a Belgian mallinois so if they were to get struck by something sharp they would easily get injured

Had different breeds of dogs but nothing compared to my Doberman Penny. Low maintenance no hair shedding clean loyal. She got cancer at 8 years old aswell. It might be the breed. But I blame myself as I did not get her fixed. Apparently Doberman females if you do not intend to breed them you need to fix them within 6 months from birth. If not there is a very high risk of them getting cancer. Sad.

I think that goes for all females: without puppies and sterilization there’s increase for illness😕. So sorry for your loss ❤️

They seem to be susceptible to cancer.
