    Man that brings back memories. I was working with the 23rd TASS out of D.M back in 86. We were flying these little beasts as Forward Air Controllers. I was placed there along with about a dozen other NCOs that had a minimum of 4 years experience on the A-10. We were going to transistion over the warthogs to preform the same mission along with C.A.S follow on. I worked those little suckers for about 8 months and really enjoyed the experience. They were beat to hell and when we needed parts we would put in a request to the bone yard or just go out and pull the parts we needed. Only jet I ever worked on that took only two people to swap out the J-85 engine in about two hours + engine trim time. I would love to own on as they are pretty simple to maintain. If you can find the parts.

    I always thought these would be fun to fly and this video confirms it. Little on the outside, roomy on the inside, a flying sports car.

      The vid makes it look roomier on the inside than it really is. Wider than a C-180 but not much.

    I have never seen two guys having so much fun and wearing frowns the whole time. there was a glimpse of a grin at the roll at the top of the loop. What incredible fun!
    Converting jet fuel into noise is one of the most fun things a man can ever get to do.....

    Wow this video just slapped a smile on my face and added some happiness to my morning. Even 9 years later. Those guys had a blast flying, and much respect to them. That is how you should spend a Saturday morning with your best friend. That is better than putting that money into investments. That is pure investment in joy. Thank you.

    How much fun was that? One of the best flying videos in my book!
    A flight instructor I had used to fly 'Tweety Birds" and said it was an outstanding airplane and a quite a little hot rod, and much easier to fly then a 310 and much more fun the a P51. The video confirms his claim!

    Oh, such a fun video, wish I could say that it reminds me of my days at Laughlin AFB, UPT 87-02 -- I have the syllabus number of hours in the Tweet, but my flying just seemed stressful, not like this awesome video where the plane really looks like fun. The one really cool experience: was w IP in the upper areas approx 25,000 ft practicing spin recovery -- rolled out to see three birds of the then Confederate Air Force, a B-17, B-24 and P-47 -- so cool. Thanks for the awesome music too Jim!

      Unless it's on fire, or important parts fall off of it (unlikely, unless someone is shooting at you)
      You are better off staying with the airplane and making a gear up or gear down e emergency landing if something goes wrong.
      These A or T 37s are really pretty docile for a military jet - they usually don't swap ends on you unless you really hamfist the hell out of them, and mechanically- not alot of weird potential failure points in them.
      Ejecting has its own hazards - it's not ALWAYS the best option if the airplane quits running.

    Once again...another ruined video by the addition of garbage music which has ZERO RELEVANCE to the video subject matter. People who like aircraft videos want to experience the exact sound as it is in the cockpit. People who ruin the experience think adding garbage music shows some type of "production skills" which we need to watch in "awe". You people who ruin great videos just can't take the hint, can you?

      Hey Jim, got your Academy Award yet? Rather complain than hit mute and enjoy the ride? I think some classical or chamber music would go well with the smooth rolls and the Immelmanns.

    • @NZCraigNZ
      @NZCraigNZ  Před 8 lety +3

      Hi Jim, as per the title description, the music was added on request for the enjoyment of the person in the aircraft who loves both flying and the beatles. This video was done for them but I understand what you are saying. I too love the beautiful sound of all things aviation.

      I was in the first all jet class at Mather. We all looked forward to fm 5 when we could do what we wanted.
      Flew to Tahoe reno around mustang ranch. Then circled Mt Shasta following the coast to big sir back to Mather. Such a fun trip no yanking and banking very pleasant despite the g suit. The hot spots on your head. The comfort of sitting on your survival gear and the bonus high pitched noise from the twin vacuum cleaners. Yes it was fun and I would certainly do it all again BUT the C 141 was the prettiest airplane I ever saw way over powered with bonus conve tion oven ice chest bathroom bunks an swivel chairs
