I usually use 10-12 on my k-plus for French press. I go to about 8 clicks on my v-60, but it might be a matter of personal preference. I like bolder body

I'm surprised by how large of a grind size you set for the k-plus. Is this around the same setting you use for a v-60?

I was surprised too. For v60 I've been grinding between 6 and 7 on mine.

You might try using a much heavier pour on especially on the first 100g. It looks like you are using a higher flow rate on the second pour.
I like to use an aggressive 50g pour with circular motion transitioning to maxed out flow rate for the center pour. This is close to what Patrick does I believe. You should have 100 grams on the scale by 10 seconds, not 18 seconds. You will probably prefer this extra agitation. Just like you are doing, repeat the process for the second 100g pour. I find draw downs around 2:20 to 2:50 seconds taste best for very light roasts and my grinders. Great job with the testing.

@@HoonsCoffee sounds good! Once you get that technique dialed in it’s a great way to compare your grinders or test other variables. It’s such a consistent and repeatable technique.
