Someone said, astutely and sadly, that they don't remember country singers putting down others. I've NEVER seen Vince Gill SAY anything against ANY other country artist. I have much respect for him.
I have heard of only one feud or negative thing happen on an awards show BUT I must've been too young. Something occurred when John Denver won an award & Charly Pride another artist I was raised knowing, BUT had NEVER heard about this before. BUT...it happened ON LIVE television, meaning not on social media. Where so many people put artists down.
I find that sad. I remember when Toby Keith took the initiative to NOT continue the feud he had with The Dixie Chicks. It showed maturity on his part, and WHAT REALLY MATTERS!!!!!! I think it was one of his band members whose child was REALLY sick with a disease that could've been fatal. I don't know what happened to this little girl. I believe she was a girl.
@@tammyboon6259 I recall Carrie underwood & Brad Paisley hosting the CMA award show making fun of the President of the USA,for me it was not funny,bringing politics into their monologue,said more about who they are.
Vince Gill hosted CMA award show 12 years he never was mean to anyone Ever,he was totally enjoyable.

BUT...it seems that Carrie Underwood RECEIVED more backlash for the humor they used. I agree with you. BUT...I also DIDN'T like some of the extreme vitriol said against her. I don't recall Brad receiving any.
SADLY....it was NOT long after that she had that terrible fall in her home. AND at 1st I didn't realize how SEVERE it was and some people even said she deserved it!!!!
Vince just had last weekend the GIANT special on CMT. Carrie Underwood was one of his performers!!!! I don't recall them doing that again.
To be fair, one year during Obama's Presidency, they made a joke about him.

I know that I don't talk a lot about Reba McEntire though I forgot one year on a road trip I took out from the library her autobiography that was the audio version.
I like Reba, I just prefer other country singers more when it comes to singing. Not ANYTHING personally. I'm just remembering that for years Reba and Vince hosted together for many years & I know that she is NOT comfortable bringing politics into her profession as a country singer at all.
Carrie Underwood has NOW being getting backlash about the choices she made for COVID with regards to her children. That she hasn't had them vaccinated. I ACTUALLY have NEVER heard Carrie Underwood bring this up, BUT John Rich was STANDING UP for her!!!!!!
I do believe in grace!!!! AND I not anything to do with politics, BUT people were very ANGRY with a comment that Blake Shelton made man, probably close to decade ago. BUT...he apologized immediately when he awful & didn't mean to insult the classic greats of Country Music. Blake... it's just my opinion, can put his foot in his mouth, b/c he talks a lot & I think it was something that he hadn't REALLY thought thru. I DO think Blake Shelton has a good heart. ♥️
Ironically I was listening to his version of a Conway Twitty song.
BUT...that was resolved years ago. AND like I said & others that Blake apologized immediately. AND he had stood up for Garth Brooks at one point when some country artists were criticizing him.
I think Vince stays out of the Politics as he always has & also doesn't get into these feuds happening between artists.
It’s quintessential Vince Gill. Pure emotion from the lens of an older and wiser man full of gratitude. A song with weight and substance. Something that sets it aside from most modern country music. Kudos Vinny.

I have been listening sincehe started my husband and I both love his voice ,but its just me nowwish he was here to be able to hear Vince daily on here.

What a damn good song!!! Made me reminesce about the 80's and 90's when Vince was starting out touring with George and Conway, and following him to current. Hell Yeah!

We saw him sing the song about Benny Garcia, his oldest, dearest friend and guitar tech at the christmas show at the Ryman. I loved that song and have often wished for it to be recorded. This song brought tears, just like Benny's song did on that December night ten months ago.

I have loved Vince Gill since I started listening to country music. I was a straight classic rock kind of girl. Then I was listening to Earl Scruggs and Amy Grant music. It all just began fitting my genre. I love country music now and can't imagine my life without it. Love his voice and his guitar playing.

The first song I heard was , “ When I call your name.” Some of my favorites are: “When Love Finds you” Whenever you come around” “Go rest high on that mountain” “Pretty little Adriana” “Which Bridge to Cross” It’s hard to kiss the lips at night that chew your ass out all day long” 🤣🙈.
