For me, I found out that by rolling the ball over my index finger and middle finger the shoot becomes more precise. Important is that the hand is stable and the ball doesn't roll out your hand over your ring finger and pinky.
I always get discouraged when I’m inconsistent I need to learn to keep my shot and learn from it to develop it’ll only make me better restarting too often and making shots but later missing is worse than developing a shot that works for me and be consistent. You don’t always have to be, but it’s much better that way. *2019 btw*
