How can a solar camera power itself? Aren't the solar panels not powerful enough to keep it powered? The secret is that it doesn't. It just only turns on long enough to record a short clip and then powers back down. It will turn back on when there is movement. Check out this review of this solar security camera to see if it is right for you.

Great explanation and detail man. Very well articulated and communicated to viewers.
I love your unboxing technique. Got to learn how to do that myself.
=D
does it have two way audio? how loud is it?
Thanks for sharing, is the app free for monthly storage?
Can this camera be hooked up to an Ipad?
Is the app IFTTT compatible? Thanks
Great video and nicely explained. Is there a camera that records 1080P onto the SD card? Look forward to more reviews from you. well done.
How is connect this camera,is wifi 2.4 and is connecting on any adroid device like a tablet,or Only on a smartphone,iphone..ect?
is this better than reolink 2? . im planning to buy one soon.
What if sd card is full? Will it overwrite?
Does it work with blue iris?
Thank You
Grate....
How you can change the ring tune type .can it be differ from the other notification?
Also what is different between 50 and 60 Hz in setting and which one you use since it is solar ?
50/60hz usually means to block out those signals due to the frequency of your local power. Locally here, it's 60Hz in California.
Great review.. Thanks bro
My pleasure
@@BeatTheBushDIY Hi could you please answer my question if you have information
looks like a beast of a product. Like the first mobile phone.
How can I set recording action only when there is a movement? Thanks
That's supposed to be the default since it's a solar camera.
that's a great camera I think about buying it but I'm also thinking about getting the ring surveillance security service, what do you think about comparing the ring service? with that video camera that you just reviewed?
Ring is completely different because it sits near your doorbell. This thing is meant to be under the sun which may not work in the same place as the ring. I never had a ring so it'll be hard to compare.
@@BeatTheBushDIY thank you
=D
I just returned this camera after installing a few days ago. There is about 5-10 second latency from PIR activity to record.
About 99% of all motion activity recorded on the most sensitive setting didn't have a usable footage.
Ring does have security cameras and the 2nd gen stick up camera with solar becomes in 2 days.
I do have a ring door camera and it's motion to record response is phenomenal, so I will likely go that route.
@@adroper62 get the reolink argus eco with solar panel on amazon
fps for 1080p?
Hi , l purchased 3 Solar camera s l find that l have to charge battery every 3 days it's crazy any suggestion they says in manual that battery should be charged every 6 months it gets about 7 hr Sun a day but still dosent charge strong
You might have a lot of movement in the field of view which causes the camera to constant be turned on. Perhaps adjust it to be less sensitive or move the view to something that moves less. Trees tend to move more with the wind.
How long did you charge it via USB, after removing the camera out of the box, I plugged it for 10hrs - dont see it power up, when I pressed power button
I didn't. It powered on and it's supposed to top up with the solar panels. This is not meant to turn on at all times and on only intermittently with movement.
Looking for a solar camera that does time lapse onto the SD Card. Does this one do the job?
Not many options to do so and I don't remember seeing this option.
Sir price
Any camera that has an application that "phones home" is a deal breaker.
Hello, I just bought this 4g solar camera but it only comes with Chinese instructions. I have downloaded the indicated application "UBell" but no blue light comes on (as indicated in the installation explanations). The application cannot find the device.
I have installed the sim card correctly (I have already tried two different cards), I have turned it on and off several times and even reset the camera, but the mobile application cannot to find the device.
Could you help me?
Thank you
Try to pair it with the barcode from the app. There is no sim card for this. You mean SD memory card?

Yes, my camera is not wifi, it is 4g, it works with a sim
Can this work without a wireless network just a device like a phone or tablet?
You need wifi to have this log into.
@@BeatTheBushDIY ok thanks
How can connect in 2 different smart phone?
I am not sure since I never tested this.
does it do continuous recording
Technically, it can do it for some time but eventually, it will run out of battery however big it is.
Have you actually set it up and tested it out.
Depends what you define as that. I used all the functions.
Has anyone found a way to store longer clips than 8s in the cloud?
Our camera support ur own cloud , as well as iclound
I don't
But its not an actual NETCAM? Can access via local ip address using 3rd party software or no?
Can ONLY use their app and/or cloud right? (Dont care about sdcard)
I only used their app for this testing, nothing fancy done.
can you set that up with a dvr to record hours or days instead of a cloud??
I didn't try out that as it wasn't obvious that can be done.
youre getting famous now, even on this account, will you still respond to all our comments?
Oh yeah? Not too many people knocking down my door on this channel.
This will only be good for a backyard ot somewhere with limited traffic cause if you have alot of people walking by and it has to keep coming on the battery wont last
Very true. Otherwise you'd have to plug it in which isn't built for that.
what if there is no wi fi
can it use cellular phone signal?
No it cannot unless you turn your phone into a wifi hotpot via tethering.
@@BeatTheBush Do you know a camera that uses cellular phone signal that I can get to record at locations where there is no wi fi. That is what I am looking for. I was using Arlo, but I don't really like them
Phone wifi or home
Sorry guys, watched different reviews, bought the camera and what a disaster. Save your money if you are a potential buyer. This camera disappoints on every level it isn't funny. It gives a great shot if objects are still or a bug crawls across the lens. I can pull into my driveway, exit the vehicle and enter the house, it records no movement, only the vehicle. Moving objects pixalate. If you are a thief and see a Soliom camera in use, steal everything, the owner deserves it.....lol
Forget how to use it, what SD cards and applications, I want to know who called this a security camera. I'm hitting up every CZcams account that reviewed this camera to save someone else a big waste of time and resources.
There is indeed a delay from when something happens and when it starts recording of a few seconds it seems. The industrial design isn't the best.
But its not an actual NETCAM? Can access via local ip address using 3rd party software or no?
Can ONLY use their app and/or cloud right? (Dont care about sdcard)
Just bought this on Amazon, and it didn’t come with the screwdriver. It does include 2 different sized Allen wrench to tighten the solar wings and mounting bracket.🤠 SD card does not come with it, so order one also, if you buy it on Amazon. Don’t forget to format the SD card before you install it...instructions on how to do that are in the camera manual.😳
After using it, I actually didn't think this was the best of the wireless cams I've tried. The industrial design was a bit bulk for me.
What is the best wireless solar camera you have reviewed.@@BeatTheBushDIY
@bartonreid I'm gonna stick around for this question
I cant pair this up with my iphone 11 because the App says it can only use 2.4hz and not any 5hz. My google routers use both but the routers decide on their own which to use for the best function of each devise. Its a shame I will have to take this back to Amazon. Soliom has no customer service
When you setup camera manually choose your 2.4ghz band
@@kilogulf1164 I never saw a choice for choosing either band on phone.
@@JohnDoe-xu2vx You should have both options on your wifi connection tab on your phone. Connect to the 2.4ghz connection NOT the 5g than setup.cameras.
It might be doing some tricky thing where there is a single SSID for the wifi which I have not seen before. Usually it would be SSID for 2.4GHz and SSID_5G for 5GHz. If they combined it, you may want to go in your router settings to specifically have different SSIDs for each band.
New frontier routers have a new option in their configuration that blends the 2 and gives you 5 ghz if available or 2.4 if not. I forget what the setting is called but I remember it had a good description telling you that’s what the option was for.
Bangladesh cam .u camera
I like it but..its a bit bulky
A shame that it's so bulky and rough around the edges because it's a really good concept. I'd get a reolink with the solar panel but unfortunately those only support reolink's own rudimentary cloud service and no mainstream services or FTP. Why does the perfect product not exist?! ARGH!
It does look... a bit boxy eh?
Issues for
Solar cameras is the life of the battery, it will not last in a month
Well.. not if they only turn on just long enough to send a short clip or picture.
That’s a sweet screwdriver
=D
Dude, really. No Sound recording on the camera
Security cameras... sometimes they have sound, sometimes not.
So China has your password ?😂
Always use a different password than anything else. What is of concern is access to the feed via a backdoor.
Great review. The cam sucks!!
I would say the industrial design is a bit bulky.
Terrible camera great review!
i could sneak up on it with a BB gun and take it out all you would see is the bb hit the lens..
No no no no... don't go around destroying property.
A paint ball gun is more effective.
That is what the thieves used at the industrial park where I used to work.
The NVR had nothing but videos of orange globs.
This camera is a totally garbage don’t buy it don’t waste your time your money and stress 2021 better camera just came out cheaper and better quality
The industrial design is a bit bulky indeed.
