Familia kadhaa katika mtaa wa Makasembo zimeachwa bila makao baada ya makaazi yao kubomolewa na tinga za kaunti ya Kisumu hapo jana.
Maeneo ya kuabudu ni miongoni mwa majengo yaliyobomolewa kwenye zoezi hilo ambalo limesababisha uharibifu mkubwa wa mali ya thamani isiyojulikana. Aidha wakaazi wamelalamika hatua hiyo wakisema hawakupewa ilani ya ubomozi huo unaonuia kutwaa nafasi ya ujenzi wa miundo msingi kwa matayarisho ya kongamano la miji ya Afrika litakalofanyika mwezi septemba mwaka huu. Kwa upande wake meneja wa mji wa Kisumu alisisitiza kwamba wataendelea na ubomozi huo ili kuboresha jiji hilo kwa maandalizi ya Afri-Cities mwakani

@James Gathaiya, That is not true. The handshake has nothing to do with the demolition. A lot of these people have encroached on government land. Did you hear any of them claiming to have titles? The answer is no. They are illegal settlers and since kenyans have perfected the art of lying, and get rich quick schemes they want the government to compensate them. No compensation, move out of government land.

@Munira Shughuli So where did they come from? Do they have titles to show the land belongs to them? The answer is no. These people encroach on government land and then they want compensation for land that does not belong to them. No compensation. Go back to whereever you came from.

Give people some little time to move their properties safely. Wacha kuharibu mali ya wenyewe. These families are self employed and are working 24/7 to earn a living. Try to fit in their shoes 👞, I swear you’ll feel the pinch 🤏 and literally meltdown.

@Vincent Oyoo, no government evict people without notice. These people should stop lying. They build on government land. Did they have titles to show the land belongs to them? The answer is No. Let them move out of government land.

@@daveparko3519 @ let’s hope they are given some humble time to relocate for fairness even though they may have illegally constructed just for survival. Again, the Kisumu county government have displayed credible ideas to build market centres with good facilities that will provide clean environment for the society.
