I've had this 2 days now. The screen becomes unresponsive due to lag which means the navigation is at least 200 yards behind where my vehicle is so it's unusable. Are you using the phones hotspot or Tesla's connectivity? Where is the unit placed? Or are you now getting the same lag!!?
I've not experienced a lag... I'm using the phones hotspot and have the box plugged into the USB-C at the front, inside the centre console...

Correct, you can also cast but of course you shouldn’t do this while at driving
@@TeslaLightShows yeah the Australian version of Tesla's OS doesn't let U do this

My tesla doesn’t show the box as an option in the select wifi drop down. Anyone else have this issue?
That's not happened to me, have you tried a soft reboot? Holding in the double trackballs

No, this uses the car's bluetooth and wifi signal however, any data is phone usage only.
You didn’t show navigating in the Tesla using the native app and demonstrate audio cues from the car like when using auto pilot and FSD. If I have to cast and click a bunch of stuff every time I don’t think it’s worth the hassle. Can you just make a video of you walking out to your car, getting in and putting in an address in your FSD and then pulling up ways to monitor for traffic and then while doing all of that listen to something like an audiobook on your phone?
Hi Howard, FSD does function as usual… Remember that the CarPlay interface is through the web browser which you can bring up or dismiss at any time to effectively flip back and forth (if you wanted to). The only thing I’d say is that you’d be getting voice prompts from both Waze (for example) and Tesla’s native navigation if you ran them both at the same time, however you could of course simply mute one of them… Regarding the casting option, that does not relate to CarPlay, which is a one time set up and then should just auto connect when you get back into the car with audio (if Bluetooth was selected as media source on prior exit)… The casting would be specifically if you wanted to view media from your phone that was not available through CarPlay. @@TeslaLightShows thank you for responding… so once everything is set up initially, using Waze on my MMI is simply a matter of clicking on my browser and going to the bookmark? That’s what it all boils down to for me. I just want Waze on my MMI.

No, it also works with Android Auto
There is no exit carplay option for me to Cast 😮😮
You press the exit CarPlay option, then cast directly from your iPhone.
