Jaylen Brown has proved he is an elite player in his eight years in the league, making five appearances in the Eastern Conference Finals already.
Now set to make his second NBA Finals appearance, winning a championship will solidify his status as one of the best players in the league and quiet down all the critics.
He's already secured one of the largest contracts in NBA history, became a three-time All-Star, a one-time All-NBA player, and already has shown he can rise in the biggest moments...
However, back in 2016, Brown was overlooked by two teams, being selected third overall. So why was he not taken 1st overall? Or even 2nd for that matter?
And who was drafted before and after Jaylen Brown?
Let's get into it… - Sport
Is Jaylen Brown the BEST player from the 2016 draft class?
Probably
Hell no
Yes and its not even close
Yes
yes
Ive been saying jaylen brown was the best player in that draft half for like 6 years now and people are finally admitting it. Everyone said simmons was the best in the draft class, then they said siakam, then ingram, now the evidence is overwhelming for jaylen.
Same, got receipts too.
Simmons was a monster tho… til his confidence shit the bed
I’m a raptors fan… and I admit I thought siakam and brown were close there the last couple years but now brown is clearly the best of the class
@@crazydumb1861monster is a stretch
As a Celts fan JB has been worth every penny of his new contract. He’s the true leader & heart of the team.
Wanna hear a joke? People said siakam and ben simmons is better than brown and tatum fanboys 5 years ago said brown is at best. 4th option
I am convinced Brandon Ingram has been high as hell since day one playing basketball. His eyes are so bloodshot. It’s hilarious.
Lonzo Ball & Ben Simmons were picked before Tatum & Brown
This video is so smooth 😊
Simmons isn’t necessarily a bust. But his fall-off will be unparalleled, assuming he can’t scrap a career back together.
It’s unfortunately how it goes for a first overall pick. He had some very good years, that isn’t a question, but he has never improved upon his flaws and is a shell of what he was expected to be.
If he was simply a lottery pick, his career wouldn’t be as notable, but first overall picks are expected to be HOF caliber and that isn’t something he has shown to be. Who knows though, maybe he can turn it around.
Man, it's kinda crazy, two years in a row, it went Philly, LA, Boston and both those years Boston was the clear winner of the draft. ('17 you technically swap Bos & Philly but they traded, so same order)
Funny enough that Philly picked 2 busts and LA picked 2 players who played better after leaving them 😂 though have to say Lonzo and Brandon were crucial in AD's deal
The people say this 2024 draft will be the worse but in this 2016 draft there were many bads players 🤷♂🤷♂🤷♂🤷♂🤷♂
I’m a raptors fan… and I admit I thought siakam and brown were close there the last couple years but now brown is clearly the best of the class
Don’t be hard on Bender, he’s still developing
0:25
And now Finals MVP ☘️
Adam Silver: The Celtics select Jaylen Brown
Me: Who??
Jaylon Brown is maybe the best musician in the NBA
Brown sort of became the Player Simmons never could
Just imagine if Philly would’ve chose Jaylen and Tatum … with Joel … thank God they didn’t
is it me or did it seem like everyone was traded to the kings?
Lots of players from this draft is already out of the league
nice video
Ppl forget jb was projected like 7-10 so ppl thought it was a stretch n a half
People have to give Danny Ainge for Brown & Tatum BC no one saying Jalen Brown before we drafted him & Everyone including myself wanted markelle Fultz over tatum
That’s how you know you made it when your in one of these videos
Suns drafted Dragon Bender & Josh Jackson in the top 5 in 16 & 17
And to think Boston got all those high picks from Brooklyn in the KG/Pierce fleece. 😂
Do Klay Thompson or Stephen Curry
