    • @kristin2104
      @kristin2104 Před 4 lety +229

      I’m guessing it’s because western countries tend to have overall happier people. A lot of East Asian countries have tons of people working too much for too little, focusing less on mental health, even though the suicide rates are sky high.
      Western countries focus more on well being, and fewer people live a life where you never seem to catch a break.
      There’s probably a reason why Scandinavia overall are some of the best countries to live in

      Blep Blop well, between 2014 and 2018, japan’s suicide rate dramatically decreased from 19.5 to 16.5. in the united states it’s only increasing, from 13.4 in 2014 to 14.0 in 2017. so i would say japan is doing something right. and you mentioned scandinavia, but sweden has a fairly high suicide rate of 12-13 (seems to be fluctuating).

    As far I've seen here in Denmark, we don't have Haagen-Dazs ice cream, and as far as sizes - we don't have the small portions that you do in that moment, mostly 1 liter buckets or the Ben & Jerry buckets - I think they're ½ liter without knowing for sure. Some places you can get individual ice cream sticks/pops, mostly candy stores or small quick-marts, supermarkets usually have boxes of individual ice creams.

    Can I request the topic on Waste Management? I'm into Zero Waste and was amazed by Japanese on how each household doing with garbage (categorised garbage) I want to know how they do it.
    Hi thank you for many comments. Just FYI I actually know that Japan is not a zero waste country and actually love packaging.. (I also know a lot of japan stuff but some may not in that much detail, thank you manga for those knowledge) but the garbage categorisation is still a good example you can learn from in your household. It's kinda sad when the old Japan (after WW2) they were kinda like zero waste (yes they were) until somebody created Plastic.

    1:44 The rice scooper looked like the Hamburger Helper hand mascot.
    For those wondering, Hamburger Helper is a packaged food product consisting of boxed dried pasta with the seasonings in a powdered sauce packet. The product line also features products with other starches, such as rice or potatoes. The contents of each box are combined with browned ground beef (i.e., hamburger), water, and occasionally milk to create a complete one-dish meal. There are also variations of the product designed for other meats, such as "Tuna Helper" and "Chicken Helper".
    Hamburger Helper offers a variety of flavors, including Lasagna, Cheeseburger Macaroni, Bacon Cheeseburger, Philly Cheesesteak, Stroganoff, and so on. My favorite from decades ago was Zesty Italian
    , but it's listed as discontinued but for all effective purposes it's actually been changed into the Italian Sausage Flavor. Although that too may also be discontinued. www.bettycrocker.com/products/helper

      JESSICA KHAN fruits are extremely good for you the reason why crops are expensive in Japan is because Japan is not an agriculture-based country it has little arable land so the supply of vegetables and fruit is low while demand is high so suppliers raise prices to compensate
