It is believed that the tape was created from some time between April and July of 1999. However, the tape depicts footage originating as early back as 1985. It is thought that the tape was used internally at HOME and NASA for assessment of the circumstances surrounding AZ-001. The tape was discovered within the Grand Forks Technical College rubble.

It was said elsewhere, but it is truly baffling that they thought that something that successfully entered the atmosphere, sitting in the middle of a flaming crater, would be in any way harmed by a flamethrower.

it's rare you directly see what happens to victims in analog horror, but seeing the final interaction was just absolutely terrifying, I love it! very intrigued, definitely will be keeping an eye on this.
Really? Terrifying? I think one of the strengths of most analogue horror is that there's a certain amount it leaves up to your imagination. The end of this throws that out the window and leaves very few questions. The execution - while admirable - also leaves much to be desired. Interacting with the lifeform should've been implied, rather than blatantly shown. The flamethrower (and the guy's helmet) in particular took me right out of suspension.
@_Digishade_ there's a balance you gotta strike, too many try to leave it to the imagination and it just comes off as lazy writing. Sometimes before and after shots are pretty effective, leaving the dirty details up to the imagination

I'm at a loss for words. Wow. Just wow. Outside of Gemini Home Entertainment, this is the only analog horror I've seen that portrays what actually happens to the victims. And this beats that by showing it in real time too.
I love the huge dramatic shift in camera work because it started out at first as a normal analog horror found footage pov but hugely shifted into an intense and dramatic cinematic type camera work highliing the hazmat guys utter disbelief at what he's witnessed and which would lead to his pretty gory death. Solid series so far
He looks a bit like a Sentionaut from Beyond The Black Rainbow. Am I the only one who thinks this?

The ending with the hazmat victim's demise is genuinely dreadful. Those panicked cries sold it for me.

Anyone notice that Lucas Michaels, the doctor who disappeared in 1989, was saying that AZ-001 was supposed to land in 1989? Being off by an entire decade, especially when you were explicitly studying the thing, seems very weird and suspicious. And considering in 1991-1992, a movie was apparently made about AZ-001 behind HOME's back, he probably went rogue.
He actually did say 1999. You just misheard it.

This was visually breathtaking. AZ-001 is one of the creepiest monster designs I have seen in analog horror. I subscribed and cannot wait to watch the other 2 videos + content in the future!

This was genuinely one of the best pieces of Analog Horror I have seen in a very long time. I’m just in awe of the effects used on the video. I like how AZ-001-A never established any sort of hostile intent until it started getting firebombed, it very well may have been just some sort of curious fragment of a sleeping god that wanted to learn about this new world full of life, until the life on said planet started attacking it.
After seeing what this thing is capable of, yeah, I’d say we’re doomed.

This was some analog horror that managed to suspend my disbelief the whole time. This is really good.

It's a crime that this doesn't get the attention that it deserves.
I usually find that tossing in a random gruesome death doesn't make something scary, but this death was so well executed, and really makes you start wondering what happened, why it happened, and how.
That was very high quality. The effects and visuals look very faithful, and reflect the technology of the time period this is set in. Looking forward to more, fantastic job!
I know I'm echoing everyone else in this comment section, but this really is stellar work, in all involved aspects. I'll be very surprised if this doesn't spread far.

First watched this a few months ago, returning to rewatch it because this is so good! Here before it really really blows up in popularity (and I truly hope it does)
I'd like to take a moment to appreciate what a brilliant setup this is - discovered in our solar system a lifeform, presumably dead, is emitting brain waves associated with rem sleep. And is hurling towards earth. This intrigues from the very start and sets the cosmic horror mood immediatly
