🦋 You are beYoutiful inside and out; I love you!
Love how you present yourself in accordance to the type of video of the day
Thank you for the helpful recommendations! I'm thinking I need to add one of these to up my night time routine game 💜
Thank you for all your informative content! You've transformed the way I look at skincare ingredients and the health of my skin!!! 💜💜💜
I just started the Good Molecules one! Perfect timing for this video! 💜💜💜
Yay!!! Been Pregnant 🤰 and breastfeeding now, needed this video-love Ole, recommend. Can you please bring a video on best lifting creams and if they work. Thanks for you incredible research 🧐💜
I am getting the Paula’s Choice one to trade in and out for my retin a. Loved the info! 💜💜💜
The retinol with bakuchiol very nice. I'm on my third bottle.
I have definitely always given this ingredient the side eye. Thanks for the info! 💜💜💜💜
Thank you for this Cass, I'm super interested in new research into Bakuchiol! 💜
Ahhh! I love your blouse! I know a lot of effort went into the video (this is me acknowledging it), but also: I love your top!!
The Ole Henriksen one was my first introduction to bakuchiol, and I loved it 💜
Me too
That one smells REALLY good. It is strong, however (Fruity Pebbles on steroids), so if that's not your jam, don't pick it up.
💜Thanks for making such an in depth video about that ingredient. It was so informative and impressive.
Thank you for being so honest with information on bakuchiol. I like to take into consideration both the pros and cons. I read the information about bakuchiol and possible negative effects with breast health and not yet being proven safe or unsafe for use in pregnancy. No one seems to be mentioning or explaining the issue in any videos. I appreciate your honesty.
💜I have tried many, many eye creams. I decided to try the Ole Hendrickson Bakuchiol eye cream. I had a little bit of wrinkly eyelids. I use the eye cream at night under the eyes and in lids. I was able to see visible difference in about 5-6 weeks. I still have 1/4 left, and I bought another for my "backup drawer".
I randomly bought the Bybi at Target and was thrilled to see you mentioned it. The smell isn’t great, however, the two ingredient formula is what caught my eye. Just started using it so I am excited to see its impact.
Any feedback on how it went?
love your content! very informational and gives me good points to do more self research! thanks💜
Perfect video! Very illuminating! Thank you 💕💜
The Paula’s Choice 0.3 Retinol with Bakuchiol and Vitamin C is one of the best product on the market period.
Couldn't agree more, I'm using it for two weeks and already notice differences
@@jfr543does it irritate your skin?
I just use epiduo and sunscreen at the minute, so it's nice to hear about potentially a moisturiser I could use with with my oily acne skin in the morning when I maybe need a day off from retinoids
I’ve been using the Boots Ingredients Bakuchiol serum and I absolutely love it! 💜
Thanks for this info, I will look to find any of this products, I’m very intrigued now. 💜
💜 i was really curious about incorporating some bakuchiol but i think im gonna have to check it out now! I love retinol, but i don’t love how flaky it can make me 😬
💜 I just started with Paula’s Choice Bakuchiol! I think I own everything you recommend (and yes, threw out all the La Mer…).
❤️ I have used the discoloration serum from Paula’s Choice. I really enjoyed it.
💜 I love sleeping masks/creams. Thanks for your recommendations!
As a recommendation, I can say that Versed Gentle retinol serum containing bakuchiol and encapsulated retinol is an awesome product. Very gentle on the skin and it makes the skin look flawless. Not so strong when it comes to combating around-the-eye wrinkles, even after about two months of use.
When you say "Not so strong when it comes to combating around the eye wrinkles", Do you mean it's not going to irritate the eyes as some other stronger formulas can? Or, do you mean it doesn't do as good of a job at combatting the wrinkles around the eyes like some stronger formulas do?
@@Lisa-qk1xj I meant the latter. It's just not strong enough, and I am relatively young (32) with light, around the eye wrinkles. For that I would recommend Medik8 0.3 Retinol oil. It is for the face, but is gentle enough to be used around the eyes, too.
The Paula’s Choice bakuchiol/retinol gel is a pleasure to use. Thanks for a list of others!💜
Thanks for the recommendations! 💜
Helpful information, as always, thank you, 💜
I started my retinol journey with the Paula's choice one. It was such a good experience,... 👍🏻 🐈🐱🐈🦋 💜

Any links for the products? 🥺

Did you have any purging?
@@brianawright2982 no... none. I can really recommend it 😊
Good Molecules has a Bakuchiol oil. It’s a pretty small bottle but it absorbs into the skin so nicely! I’m not a fan of oils bc I feel like they just sit on my skin & don’t actually absorb. But this one is really nice! You’ll have to check it out. 💜💜💜
yeah I keep buying this one, I wonder if we could gt her stop of approval on it
💜I have used the BYBI and love to add a few drops to my moisturizer.
I love the Bakuchiol by The INKEY List! And by the way thank you sooo much for introducing us to this brand it's a favorite now!!
I use the neogen bakuchiol firming serum and love it. I used the ordinary retinol in squalene, but it was too oily for me and just sat on top of my skin. This one absorbs so well and gives a nice almost cooling effect. 💜
💜 I’ve only tried bakuchiol products from ByBi and The Inkey List so far. I like both but I do like TIL’s bakuchiol a little more. It’s a moisturiser and I like the formulation. It works wonders with TIL’s retinol serum - which is another product that has a formulation that I really, really like. I’ve also paired TIL bakuchiol with Sunday Riley’s A+ serum (a higher strength retinol) and The Ordinary’s Granactive Retinoid 2% emulsion.
Bakuchiol might not be the holistic alternative to retinol or maybe not even to be compared to retinol, but it’s a nice antioxidant 😌 And I love my antioxidants - as well as peptides and fatty acids - just as much as retinol!
How do u layer TIL bakuchiol with TIL retinol? Is it Combining both for nighttime routine (retinol then bakuchiol) or do u use bakuchiol in the morning and retinol in the night?
I know you made this comment 2 years ago but I'm looking for a bakuchiol moisturizer and I've checked out ByBi's (since I already use their booster) and The Inkey List's. My skin is very dry, so would you say ByBi's or TIL's cream is more moisturizing and hydrating? Because I noticed that TIL's cream is a day cream but I want to use it in the evening
💜 I'll have to look into the recommendations on here when I have some time. Being that I just found a retinol product that finally doesn't react to my skin, I'm pretty happy right now with my routine.
I use the Paula’s choice, it’s great! Awesome information
💜My first introduction to bakuchiol was in the Herbivore one. I stopped using it when I heard about the scandal. So disappointed! I actually just ordered the Paula's Choice retinol + bakuchiol and I am so excited to try it! Thank you!
I just bought the herbivore one, did it actually work for you?
@@kyladanae I honestly didn’t use it consistently enough to really know. Hope it works for you 😊
I actually really like bakuchiol oil blend from Good Molecules. Put it on as a last step after a moisturizer on the days I don’t use Adapalene gel
Definitely Paula’s choice discoloration repair serum is my favorite of these products 🦋💜 Paula’s choice really kill it with so many products.
💜 Been watching videos about antioxidants in anti-aging skincare routines.
The first before and after picture shows a woman smiling and not smiling. I agree, not smiling will erase your wrinkles. Thanks for the evidence 😂🙄. I’d be curious to know if other skincare have been tested for ingredients accuracy. I think we’d be surprised to find out the results, for any brand 💜
Wow! I did not know this about the herbivore bakuchiol I just ordered from Sephora…
Thank you so much for this 💜 💜💜
I found that the Herbivore Bakuchiol has the consistency of saliva, which is why I switched to Bybi. I also like the Biossance FWIW.
At least sephora has an awesome return policy
Thank you for the information and recommendations 💜💜
Thank you for the recommendations! 💜
Volition Yaupon Tea Glow-Awakening Moisturizer (has bakuchiol) is a great option for oily acne prone skin. 💜
I bought the brand Good Molecules Bakuchiol oil blend for oily skin, it was $10 for 12ml/0.40 fl. Oz .. the ingredients are Rosa Rubiginosa (Rosehip) Seed Oil, Baobab Seed Oil, Bakuchiol. They have one for dry skin and one for oily, I'm oily so I chose this one, I use the niacinamide from good molecules and it's been good so far so I'm hoping this one is too
I've been using the same oil and I think it's good, I live in a country that is really cold in winter and I was feeling that my moisturiser wasn't enough. I feel my skin more hydrated but I'm not sure if I see any changes regarding wrinkles, elasticity or fine lines...
I’ve loved the ole henriksen cream for the past year that I’ve used it. It’ makes my skin glow
Thanks for the recs! I use Pacifica pure shot bakuchiol but I've also been wanting to try cetaphil healthy radiance renew cream as a night cream after retinol 💜 excited to try the target booster :)
I've only just purchased the Medik8 Bakuchiol Peptides here in Australia, but it is a UK company. This product has 1.25% backuchiol and is cruelty free.💜 PS, I swear I had the butterfly avatar before I became a Cass fan.
i didn't try Medik 8 bakuchiol, but i love their products which i use daily
I am loving the medik8 bakuchiol. It's the first thing I tried from medik8 and it's great.
@@oceanbird. Same! tried it yesterday and loved how it feels on the skin, today my skin is noticeably softer (usually it's extremely dry)
@@velvetunderground17 I've been using it a month now and my skin is already starting to look brighter and smoother. So far it's a winner for me!
@@oceanbird. Can you use it around the eyes? I’m looking for a safe way to get rid of my undereye wrinkles
I tried the Bybi booster and it was great but it literally took me 3 days to loosen up the cap enough to open it . We have a brand in New Zealand called “Trilogy “ they do an amazing booster.
💜 I haven't tried these but going on my list of things to try. That list gets longer every day!
Now I'm super excited to try this. 💜
I use the one from Biossance. It’s been working well for my personal skin. Would really love to hear your thoughts on it
💜 I'm still afraid of trying retinols so I opted for the inkey list bakuchiol moisturizer and I'm on my second one now
How do you like it?
Hi, how’s it going?
Did it have any antiaging benefit?
Do you still use it?
💜💜💜 Thank you for this video, very informative!!
Thank you. I was using herbivore. Will be switching to Bybi now 💜
I just saw the inkey list came out with a moisturizer, any thoughts about that? 💜
Is Inkey List tested on animals? If not, she won’t talk about it. But I live the Inkey List Bakuchiol.
Im done with retinol, bakuchiol … Im on tretinoin and now after two months I started to see good results
Do you use tret around the eyes too?
Thank you. As always, your information is interesting and helpful. 💜 💟
Thanks, Cassandra!!! 🙏🌟🦋
I’ve always wanted to try bakuchiol, but I have 99 products to be emptied first 😅 I have my eyes set on the Paula’s Choice Discoloration Repair tho 💜
Fascinating! One question - your video preview features Biossance yet you did not discuss if you thought it was a low or high quality option and it’d be great to know and if you think this brand’s products are worth it in general. Thanks for considering!
I was thinking the same thing!!
I would love to know this as well!
Me too!
Me too!
Me too! I have been using the Biossance line for a month now and love it! But haven't tried that product yet.
I would LOVE to try the BYBI booster 💜
i love bybi! and the people who founded the company are so nice! i haven't tried their bakuchiol yet but i want to.
For reference: I have combination-dry skin and the Paula's Choice one was perfection for me.
It was my intro into Retinol, and I had used 2 Bakuchiol products before (none of the ones mentioned here) before going to Paula... And I've got to say, the reason I think it would be fine for even combo-dry to dry skin is because of it's longterm moisturizing effects on the skin... Because of the Bakuchiol.
Let me explain: for the first while I couldn't understand why my skin had become so plump and supple. I chocked it up to be my Marine Hyaluronics, because it's done it in the past, but just a while ago my husband was touching my face and even he said, "wow. Your skin is SO smooth and it's like.... thick" lol... God bless him. What he meant was that it was plump. Enough for even him to notice.
So I flipped through some of my journey pics (before and afters) and realized that most of these improvements started happening on my skin only after introducing Paula's Choice Retinol + Bakuchiol.
On top of the suppleness, my moisture barrier seems stronger than ever, too. You can feel it. You can see it. My skin looks visibly healthy and glowy.
I chock that up to be the Bakuchiol, which, based on my experience, is part of Bakuchiol's star-power. It's just SO moisturizing! The complete opposite of Retinol.
Even toner-pads soaked in the watery stuff (Indeed Labs Bakuchiol Pads) leaves a lotion-like after feeling.
So, while the texture of Paula's may not appeal to dry skin initially (actually, to be honest, I don't know why it wouldn't... It's phenomenal. Sort of rich yet easily absorbed. Silky. Soft. Smooth.) I guarantee that with time they'd notice a great improvement in their skin texture and moisture as well.
On top of that, the formula is so gentle that the Retinol never once bothered me. Even when I used it on the same day as Paula's BHA. it:s just an all-rounder wonderful product.
I didn't think I'd like it **that** much, but I do. It's one of my all-time favourites. **chefs kiss** and I wouldn't be surprised to see Bakuchiol in WAY more products going forward. Especially those known to cause dryness.
Oh, and Bakuchiol has such a nice, soft scent to it.
I friggin' love it. I can't explain it, but it's distinct. Subtle, but distinct.
Very helpful explanation…Thank you💜
Who else remembers when bakuchiol was trending a few years ago and everybody was calling it bakukyol
I really enjoyed the philosophy nature in a jar Serum. Made a big difference in my hyperpigmentation and freckles
💜💜💜 love your work Cass
The feeling of not being able to open your skincare bottle because your hands are moisturized😭 my problem every morning!💜
💜 I'd like to try Bakuchiol, but I don't really have any retinoid sensitivity issues, so it becomes hard to justify the extra costs, especially since I can't afford any of the primary options except the Target possibility so I'll look into that because I am curious about boosting the effects of retinol products, and the anti aging options.
Thank you for the new product
Informative, as always. Thanks for helping me on my skincare journey💜
Hi ! I’ve been using a Bakuchiol
serum from Aroma Zone
(wich I believe is a French brand) for a week now and it’s pretty similar to the target option you mentioned. It’s 1% of bakuchiol and olive oil squalane. The reason I picked this one is because it’s only 7€. I wanted to give it a shot. I don’t know if the brand is distributed in other countries but I know it’s gaining popularity in France. If you ever get the chance to try it I would love to hear your thoughts on it. Anyway thank you for your videos, they are always so interesting and helpful, bisous from the south of France 💜
I use it too. Aroma-Zone has the best products and percentage! It's a lovely brand.
Yayyy love their Vit C too 😁
I've only tried the ones from herbivore and acure. I actually really liked hervibores... I liked it so much I got it for my mom and she absolutely loves it and has really helped her skin with spots and old acne scars. I've been thinking avout trying the biossance one, any thoughts? Of the ones mentiones the first two would probably be my choices. I wanna give my mom the second to see how she feels compared to herbivores without telling her about what i just learned. 💜
The squalene phyto retinol serum from biossance is quite good. I have been using it for 3 month on a daily basis.
💜💜 thinking of checking out the Ole Henriksen one, as i need a night creme for my ✨dry✨ skin!
Added the video to rewatch it when I need to buy some new stuff for my skincare. Thank you 💜
💜💜💜 I've been trying out the Inkey List Bakuchiol on my neck, but not long enough to really have an opinion. Anyone else tried it?
I tried it too but on my face it’s already been 1 month and half I using it but the results may take more time… will give it another chance to see how it goes or I will stick with my cerave retinol
Yes I have. I prefer Beekman though
I did for two years and it was great. Unfortunately I skipped it to try out tretinoin and couldn't tolerate both of them. I stopped using tret because it aged my skin horribly. I will go back to bakuchiol after trying tretinoin for almost two years. Wish I never touched tretinoin.
I am surprised Cassandra recommended to apply the Bukuchiol Booster that is in squalane oil in the morning, prior to sunscreen. Oil will break the sunscreen down. I have been taught to never use an oil with sunscreen? Anyone know if her advice was correct?
Apparently there isnt any conclusive scientific evidence that sunscreen breaks down if you apply oil first, or that it doesn't, so basically do what feels best for you I guess?
I mean, if you use oil than should the first step and let it dry completely before putting anything else. And of course not before sunscreen and never mixing with.
I've wondered this as well. I haven't been able to get a solid answer anywhere on this topic.
Love love your videos so informative 💜
💜 very interesting and informative as always, thinking I may give the ByBi bakuchiol a try! 🦋

Amazing timing, I was just considering switching from retinol to Bakuchiol and researching products! Ended up ordering Acure's Bakuchiol, would love to hear your thoughts on that one..💜
Thanks for a fantastic video. I use the Bybi. Question, you mention using it under a sunscreen. I read recently that chem sunscreens need to sit directly on the skin whereas minerals can sit on top as they reflect. In other words some derms say you shouldn’t put anything under a chem spf. Any truth in that ? X
Excellent effort for everyone
