Something had to occur that turned Dragon into a Revolutionary. I bet he was just as silly as Garp and Luffy until his wife/lover was murdered in cold blood by a Celestial Dragon. His joy in life/ easy going attitude go ripped away and he decided to make a change in the world

Everything Luffy did so far is more of a Revolutionary thing than a pirate thing I never noticed that
It's hard to fathom how long he's been coming up with this story and how freaking epic it's been. I can't wait to see how this all gets tied in. This has to be the greatest story ever made and told.

I think Dragon is also a Goofy character, just like luffy, sometimes he is serious. but with Dragon's case, Oda maybe just showing the serious side of him, and when Dragon become a big character like zoro or sanji, that is when Dragon will show his goofy side
RasyedoMono I can see this and I think I'd like it very much, like he just gets really goofy and stuff when he meets Luffy and then people are like " I guess I can see how they're related" cause garp has his goofy side too, so it only makes sense for him to be that way in some degree
Based on how he’s been presented so far he’s a very serious no nonsense kind of character for the most part but we have seen him smile before so he likely does have a fun loving side to him as well it’s just business comes first .

Dragon probably had the same personality as Garp and Luffy but something might have happened (probably involving Luffys mother and her death/disappearance) and he decided to found the revolutionaries (because the tenurobito had something to do with her death).

Dragon might be an ex-admiral or might be an ex-Gorosei (the youngest). Akainu cannot defeat Dragon since they were kids along with Aokiji and Borsalino, Dragon is always the strongest among four of them, Akainu is the Red Dog, Borsalino is the Yellow Monkey, Aokiji is the Blue Pheasant, and Dragon is the white Dragon ( just like in the zodiac, even Fujitora is the puple tiger and Ryokugyu is the green bull ) ... that is why in Battle of Marineford , even if Black Beard is there, Akainu is focused on killing Luffy (which led to Ace's death) because of his anger at Luffy's dad, Dragon (who turned out to be the leader of the Revolutionary Army who wanted to dethrone the world government because of their dark secrets and killings whom Dragon knew, making him the most wanted and the most dangerous man on earth, a title given to him by the world government )
...(well this is just an opinion)
Not a bad theory but I feel like they'd perhaps say that his crime is desertion and that would be common knowledge but we haven't really seen people really know anything about him other than he's the leader of the revolution and yeah you could make the argument that they don't want to say that for pr reasons but they talk about Diez Drake being a deserter so who knows. I kind of like the theory there's just that hole I see right out the gate.

Dragon definitely has god/Shank's level conquer's haki. As a marine said after Luffy first used conquer's haki at Marineford:

I think it's probable that Luffy's mother was killed, either directly or indirectly, by a celestial dragon, prompting Dragon to join or create the revolutionaries. This would also address the question of why the revolutionaries want to bring down the celestial dragons specifically, as opposed to the entire world government.
Another reason for taking down CD rather than whole world government is that it would result in anarchy and would be bad for the citizens of the world
The government is not necessarily bad. But the tenryubito are really assholes and spoiled.

I was under the impression that Dragon *STARTED* the revolutionary army.
Of course Dragon won. Mysterious fathers of main characters that act bad ass but give us no info (at first at least) are always popular. I mean just look at someone like Bardoc or even better Minato who was a fan favorite despite not being in Naruto (before shippuden).
She absolutely had her own part in Narutos development. Not just because she gave birth to him but also because her talk with Naruto was a important moment for him. To most having your mom say that she loves you or tell the story of how she met your dad might even be annoying but not for him. For Naruto who never knew and might have even felt like his parents either died because of or hated him hearing his mom say that she genuinely loves him was incredibly important. Not just because this helped him to "tame" Kurama but it gave him a pillar that made his faith in himself and his ideals more steadfast..
I think he said that in this video to highlight the fact that just because we found out about Minato first does not mean we won't find out about Kushina just replace them with Dragon and Luffy's mom
@Chetwane Hamza No matter how you slice it, there's nothing she's done that others haven't also done or contributed in that overshadows her contribution. When Kishimoto said she wasn't important, it's referring to the narrative. She's obviously important to Naruto for personal reasons of *HIS* character. But she isn't important to the overall story like characters such as Rock Lee. Her actions, for better or worst, can go largely unmentioned. Hell, her appearing in Naruto's consciousness was more for her feeling relieved in Naruto accepting her as his mother and just giving some insight to what happen that night Kurama attacked Konoha.
We really don’t know dragons devil fruit. Everybody thinks that it is wind. But when roger was fighting shiki, they won because a storm came miraculously. There is a theory that this is an advanced form of conquerors haki, that you are able to control the weather. So dragon might not have the wind wind fruit, but have that form of haki.
a plausible theory cause usually conquerors haki is shown as a strong wind knocking people out and when shanks was on whitebeards ship it damaged it a little
Or Dragon has the same power as Roger had. Dragon was at his execution, so it's possible he went looking for the fruit immediately after Roger died. But it remains speculation until more is shown.

My theory on dragon is that lightning bolt was Dragons control over his Conqueror's haki willing the weather to do his bidding, plus him not having a devil fruit would cement his power that he's that powerful a man to be the leader of the revolutionaries and yet he doesn't have a devil fruit power.
it's either that or he's like monaka in db super, what a twist that would be he's the leader of the revolutionary army but he has no power whatsoever, kind of like the opposite of how chopper has allot of powers but his bounty is only 100 because when being set they were misinformed of how powerful chopper really is
