This is a perfect example of just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Victoria and Jacob could all intents and purposes date each but but considering David was still in love with Victoria and she was practically Jacob’s stepmother means they shouldn’t have gone there. David doesn’t own Victoria but come on of course he’s going to compare the relationship to the one Jacob had with maya that was only a few years ago and now he has to wonder if they were lusting after each other while he was dating Victoria

Victoria should've stuck up for herself more than let David compare her to Maya. If I was in Vic's shoes. I would've said "Your son was the one decent thing I got from our relationship and he treats me 10x better than you ever did, you ripping me off and nearly ruining my life. Biological or not this is his father. If Victoria hurt him or he knows his dad's hurting over them being over, he should be on his dad's side. Otherwise what's the point in being family if you don't have each other's backs? If you don't understand that then there's something wrong with your moral compass.
Not to mention... Victoria as a grown experienced woman should be disgusted with herself. It's not the age gap... She knows what Jacobs has been through and she was dating his father. Knowing that David was ALSO dating Maya who ABUSED and groomed Jacob at a young age, should already make Victoria see the relationship as inappropriate. Knowing even that the relationship she has with Jacob is starting in the same way in the sense that both Maya and Vic were originally dating Jacob's father.
She can't even see past his "woe is me" behaviour. Jacob is always about himself and whining like a child. "You can't even bare to look at me🥺."
Honestly you'd have thought Victoria would want an actual man not a man child. If she was anyone else then it wouldn't be an issue but this storyline is gross for the two characters and the fact people are taking Jacob and Victoria's side shows how warped people's moral compass is in this fallen society. 🧭

This is a tiny town, everyone is going to know everyone else who has dated each other. David has not right to an opinion about Victoria and Jacob because they are consenting adults who know what a man child David is and wanted to have some time to build their relationship before reveling it to the entire village. They didn't plan for David to accidentally find out. Being angry at your son is one thing. Randomly deciding he is no longer your son and telling him so is vile. Being the parent means you have to be the grown up in a situation and love your child unconditionally. I pity children being raised two of the most immature, childish adults (David and Priya). They make Bernice look like mother of the decade and THAT is saying something.

The issue I’ve got with this storyline is that I dont think David, Jacob AND Victoria are entirely wine and roses. I’ve not watched Emmerdale prior to 2023 but I did pick up on how David treated Victoria in this current episode so that contributes to why they’re not together. That being said, and this is geared towards Jacob, if you knew your dad was into the girl you’re dating still, I would have treaded a lot more carefully or even talked to David about it first. Hypothetically, there’s no wrongdoing here but it’s kind of almost breaking some kind of code by having you two get together when your dad previously dated her AND still has feelings for her. Victoria, you knew the hot water this would get Jacob into, and again, you aren’t doing anything wrong but you did start a chain reaction here.
Funny enough this isnt the first time this has happened. Jacob had an affair with David's girlfriend when he was 15/16. Due to him being barely legal his behaviour was over looked but here we are again

This shows how uncontrolled sexual desire and fantacy can affect good relationships. Yeah we can get attracted to random people anytime anywhere we need to be more responsible to our real relationship. We should not allow ourselves to take that 1st step being possessed by emotions without thinking about future consequences (then we say, it just happened). Cuz after taking the 1st step its easy to get forward but difficult to return( cuz we get hooked, then we sacrifice real, valuable things to let the chain go on forward)

The problem with this storyline is that David assumed he had a chance with Victoria, after messing her about before, so what gave him that idea, just because she was being friendly towards him. I don't see where he's the hurt party in all of this when he assumed wrongly ! Basically it was all in his head. He deserved the smack in the eye his son gave him for the god awful things he said to Victoria, doesn't matter that it was his son that gave him the shiner !!! It was made plain enough months ago that Victoria was not interested in David, he just didn't see or bother to notice the signs, so it's his own fault he ended up getting punched by his own son for insulting Vic, when he had no bloody right to.
