I'vee been fortunate to see Bootsy twice in my lifetime to date, and each time you come out of his gigs lifted high and smiling your ass off having been funked hard.

I recall wanting to go to this show so bad but couldn't because of work. Then I saw him on New Years Eve in Florence about six months later. I have no problem saying Bootsy Collins was the best live concert I've ever seen by a stone mile.

I saw Bootsy with Raydio opening at Cobo Arena in Detroit. They were slammin. Bootsy did that ending . GAP has it on record.

That's how you make a show! Lots of visuals, dare to be silly because silly is better than dull. Quite a bit of Village People around Bootsy, and Bootsy is brutally over-dressed - as he should be.
And then deliver some good funk music on top, brass and all. I am happy to see that he still got it. Roto-rooter, What's the name of this town, Give up the funk... A lot to like.

Good show. Got one question. What band was the first to do that ending with the horn tag. I have heard Bootsy and the GAP band do it. The first time I heard it, Bootsy did it.
I think it was originally a Gap band thing...
Its more a Malvin Dino Vice thing, who was a part of the Total Experience Record company, hence the Gap Band thought
Big band how does everyone get paid, you got 10 or more people. everybody cant get the same amount.
They're like independent contractors hired for the tour. They'll get a fixed pre-negotiated amount of compensation regardless of how well the shows are sold.
Weak Horn Section!!! I miss Maceo Parker, Richard Griffith, and Fred Westly. They were the pioneers of the funk horn section for this music. It's still nice to see some afterburners in the horn section trying to push the horny horn legacy.
