  • Hello everyone! In this video I did a restoration on a 2014 GMC Sierra. I was skeptical when first getting the call because I confused it with my most tedious vehicle to restore headlights on, the 14-18 Chevy Silverado. I was so relieved when I arrived and found it was the GMC version. These headlight are very similar to the sierra, only it doesn't have the big trim piece on the headlight itself, making it 10x easier.
These headlights had some pretty rough oxidation, and some spots that had intact clear coat, so to cut down my labor time I started by wet sanding with the 320 grit sandpaper, then finishing with the 600. I explained a little why having a blower or air compressor to blow out trapped water can help prevent issues when it comes to spraying. I was pretty excited to do this headlight after seeing how rough they were at first, and the customers reaction was the cherry on top.

Hi Brad… you did Both headlights in 20 mins ? That’s insane at least for me ! So I’m having flyers made up and I was gonna have my business name and ph# on the back window of my car but what for you is the #1 way you get customers ?

About 20-25 minutes. Flyers are good! When handing them to businesses like Auto parts stores or tires shops, don't just hand them over, explain your process and stuff. Make a good impression. It varies. It ties between Yard signs and networking. I can say however, for the faster results, you can't be yard signs.

@@StartRestoringHeadlights ok great I just had my son design a 6x9 flyer and I sent it over to a printer. I’m having a 100 made up then I thought also about having lettering on the back of my car. In 1 of your videos you suggested that and I liked that idea

      @@StartRestoringHeadlights I have a question.
When you say “your own” clear coat, what exactly does that mean?
Is it a clear coat you produced and tested etc or are these private labeling products from a manufacturer?

@@MichaelBrianInc Hi That Dude! It is a private label product produced and tested by the manufacturer specifically for headlights.

@@StartRestoringHeadlights Ok that’s what I figured. I assume this is not a product that originally comes in a spray can? They mix it and fill each can for use?

@@MichaelBrianInc Correct. Definitely not hand made in the garage 😁
