- George Town is the colorful, multicultural capital of the Malaysian island of Penang. Once an important Straits of Malacca trading hub, the city is known for its British colonial buildings, Chinese shophouses and mosques. Beyond the old town, George Town is a modern city with skyscrapers and shopping malls. Verdant Penang Hill, with hiking and a funicular railway, overlooks it all.

Penang is a Malaysian island off the Malay Peninsula in the Strait of Malacca. In George Town, the capital of Penang state, foreign influences are evident in landmarks like colonial Fort Cornwallis, Chinese clan temple Khoo Kongsi and Indian-style Kapitan Keling Mosque. Other notable religious sites include the Chinese Goddess of Mercy Temple, the Buddhist Kek Lok Si Temple and Hindu Sri Mahamariamman Temple.
The Kek Lok Si Temple (Chinese: 極樂寺) is a Buddhist temple within the city of George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located at Ayer Itam, it is the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia and an important pilgrimage centre for Buddhists from Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore and other parts of Southeast Asia. The entire complex of temples was built over a period from 1890 to 1930, an inspirational initiative of Beow Lean, the abbot. The main feature of the complex is the seven-story Ten Thousand Buddhas Pagoda commissioned by the late Thai king Rama VI, featuring 10,000 alabaster and bronze statues of Buddha and the 36.57-metre-tall (120 ft) bronze statue of Guanyin (Kuan Yin), the Goddess of Mercy. The 10,000 Buddhas concept belongs to the Chinese Mahāyāna school of Buddhism while Rama VI was king over a Theravāda country and Buddhist tradition.
Malaysian cuisine consists of cooking traditions and practices found in Malaysia, and reflects the multi-ethnic makeup of its population. The vast majority of Malaysia's population can roughly be divided among three major ethnic groups: Malays, Chinese and Indians. The remainder consists of the indigenous peoples of Sabah and Sarawak in East Malaysia, the Orang Asli of Peninsular Malaysia, the Peranakan and Eurasian creole communities, as well as a significant number of foreign workers and expatriates.
As a result of historical migrations, colonisation by foreign powers, and its geographical position within its wider home region, Malaysia's culinary style in the present day is primarily a melange of traditions from its Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indonesian, Filipino and indigenous Bornean and Orang Asli, with light to heavy influences from Arab, Thai, Portuguese, Dutch and British cuisines, to name a few. This resulted in a symphony of flavours, making Malaysian cuisine highly complex and diverse. The condiments, herbs and spices used in cooking vary.
Because Peninsular Malaysia shares a common history with Singapore, it is common to find versions of the same dish across both sides of the border regardless of the place of origin, such as laksa and chicken rice. The same thing can be said with Malaysian Borneo and Brunei, such as Ambuyat. Also because of their proximity, historic migration and close ethnic and cultural kinship, Malaysia shares culinary ties with Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines, as these nations often share certain dishes, such as satay and rendang.
Because the vast majority of Chinese Malaysians are descendants of immigrants from southern China, Malaysian Chinese cuisine is predominantly based on an eclectic repertoire of dishes with roots from Fujian, Teochew, Cantonese, Hakka and Hainanese cuisines.[mHowever, despite the vast majority of Indian Malaysians are descendants of immigrants from southern India, Malaysian Indian cuisine has a mixture of north-south Indian and Sri Lankan diversity that can be differentiated by drier or wetter curry dish preparation.

Both of you are absolutely marvellous.....I like it.
The tablets you saw on the wall of the temples are the names of the donors for the building of this gorgeous fantastic temple....
I wondered whether both of you donate anything to the building....like a tile for the roof.....

The Gravy was delicious we haven't seen it in the UK 😃
Chinese new year is in February
Yes it is 😊
Why are they not dancing in the new year 😊?
Not sure people dance in the temple but in the streets maybe 🤔
Nothing to do with the ribbons all that is your mind and heart should be clean for other beings that are present in the world which GOD created.... no any ribbon is going to help you... All these are useless things regarding ribbons 😂 😂 😂 if everything just happens every body would go and just tie ribbons and get prosperity so easily... These things are just non sense.... 😂 😂 😂.one should be loyal towards it's own soul.... That's it.
😀😀
The good thing about life is every person can believe what they feel in their hearts.
That's why life is beautiful
@ SaptpalSingh-sf6ou Hahaha😂😂😂... are you sure you even have a soul to talk of? God is also just a concept in the mind too leh!! Believe what you want to believe in. But remember. When one knows, one does not need to believe. Do you believe in electricity for example? No, because you know! There is no need to believe in electricity. Because you know! One believes in something only when one does not know lah! That is what is called FAITH loh! Ai ya ya!! Simple one also don't know ah!? Ai yo yo!!!
❤️🎉
How are you, friends? Congratulations on 10k💯💯💯. But I am very sad😞 because I do not find many followers of this channel. Because you are far behind where you are. Which reflects negatively on this channel. ... I hope you address this matter....Before I get angry with you😡 and punish you.🧹🔨
