  • We visited the Langkawi Sky Bridge, Cable Car and Oriental Village on our first big day out in Malaysia. The Sky Bridge was an amazing experience, and after a little bit of fear, we did manage to get the whole way across and we were so happy we did, the views are simply breath-taking and this is an absolute must-do when you visit Langkawi.

Welcome to Malaysia...its super affordable to travel in malaysia. Since you started in the north part of West Malaysia..you have 11 states to visit throughout the country. There are 2 more regions in East Malaysia..ie on the island of Borneo called Sarawak and Sabah.
From langkawi you should make your way to Penang..the food capital of Malaysia. Malaysia is always the underrated. Being a former British colony almost everyone speaks English because its in the school's syllabus.

Don't forget other reasonably priced Malaysia's street food signature - Ramly Burger. Go for the special, depending where you are in Malaysia the price range should be around RM 7 - 8 per burger (about USD 2).
Also must try (look for these in Kuala Lumpur) :-
    - Satay (skewed chicken, beef, lamb meat), eat them with the accompanied peanut sauce
    - Hokkien mee (black sauce fried thick noodles)
    - Prawn mee
    - Nasi Lemak (I believe you have already tried)
    - Chinese "Pow" (steam buns with Pork or chicken fillings)
    - White Coffee
    - Roti Canai (Indian cuisine)
    - Cendol (iced dessert)
    .........and many more........
No need to spend lavishly on expensive restaurants, street stalls and small cafeteria shops will give you great Malaysia food experience, also the best way to stretch your currency exchange to the max.
    Other locations to visit:-
    - Cameron Highlands (away from the heat), tea plantations, Mossy Forest.......
    - Genting Highlands (away from the heat)
    - East Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak states, Nature at its best
    - Melaka
    - Pulau Pinang (also known as Penang)
    - Perhentian island
And in Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Alor (street name) for food, 7pm onwards.

Oh just wait until you come to Kuala Lumpur. Will shattered all your beliefs that Malaysia is underdevelop 🤭🤭🤭. Cant really blame u though, Malaysia isnt as famous as Thailand or Singapore on the global stage. Anyway, if you are interested in staying long in Malaysia. Penang, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur is a must visit. And Ipoh is quite nice for a day trip, if you are willing to take a flight. East Malaysia or Borneo Malaysia is totally different than Peninsular Malaysia.
PS : If u like beaches, Malaysia might be disappointing for a South East Asian standards. We cant compete with the stunning beaches in Thailand or The Philippines. Malaysia is more like a city type tourism.

fix... with due respect I think Malaysian beaches are equally amazing. How can it not be when West Malaysia is a peninsular and East Malaysia is part of a huge island. Langkawi itself can offer many spots... and there are many more all over the country that cannot be listed them out here.

The beliefs have been well and truly shattered as we have just been to Penang as well haha! We will be visiting Kuala Lumpur in the next week or so and are really looking forward to that too☺️

@@zaharizak They are beautiful beaches but u cant compare to something like Bali or Phuket or Boracay, etc. There is a reason why those islands are much more well known internationally. Not that Malaysian beaches are bad they are nice. But compare to its surrounding neighbours it is just so and so. That is why the Tourism board in Malaysia focuses more on promoting cities & food & cultures. Every country have their own strength & weakness

@@secrets.295 I will respect these information if you have been to Bali in Indonesia and Phuket in Thailand and Boracay in the Philippines yourself and better yet you also have been to Ligitan and Sipadan and Perhentian and Tioman and the many smaller islands in Langkawi etc etc to make the comparisons. Then you have the right to stand by your claims. Otherwise let us just agree to disagree.
