  • After 3 months of blood sweat and tears she is back as before the accident, possibly even better than before. Months of searching the internet for spares, getting to be on first name terms with the DHL delivery guys and I dont want to think about what the cost has been, even with the insurance payout. If I lived in the West, getting second hand parts is easy as you can buy a working ZZR for 1k. Here the cost of importing parts with customs duties and taxes means that I have probably spent as much on this bike as it would cost me to buy an H1. I would do it again. For me there is something about this bike that make it all worth while.

    What a smile! I'm chuffed to bits for you mate! The cost of happiness between a man and his ZZR is priceless! History was written in fire and brimstone when they made these bikes and we are lucky enough to own one, through good and bad, for the long haul. ⚡⚡

    Had a 96 zx11d. I put a Muzzy titanium 4 into exhaust which saved so much weight it was an incredible difference. Heli-Bars made it way more comfortable. I have no idea why I sold it. I start thinking I'm bored and as soon as I sell I regret it. Next bike I keep until I can't ride anymore. That's my goal anyway!

      Hi mate, I am lucky as I find the ZZR comfortable in standard form. Once I get a bike I only sell it if I move country etc. I will not sell the 1100, 14R or the 12R until I can no longer ride, which I hope is not any time soon. :-)

    Always good to see updates on your bike. I hope to continue with my own bike - EVENTUALLY, in a month or three.. Lots of "life-things" happened, inclusive of me busy with a CBR 919 and a ZX9B model.. (as well as customer's bikes. So, hopefully I will make updates again in a couple of months.

    Nice example. Lovely bikes. Owned all the zeds & still keep two 11s: the original ‘99 i honeymooned on with around 150k on it and another T plate ‘99. The higher mileage bike makes more power would you believe (& still sounds great). While i’m toying with the idea of parting with my zx12r, i will always keep the 1100. All the best! 👋

    Glad she’s back! Looks lovely. I’ll look forward to the work on the other machine.
    I need some advice. My bike was running a bit lumpy on tick over so I stripped the carbs and replaced the idle jets and some of the others. Put it all back together and it starts and idles much better. There has always been a bit of a flat spot under 6000rpm but after putting it back together it doesn’t really pull like it should till 8000rpm. The 6th gear roll on is pretty poor. I have no idea if I have the right jets in there now or even if the old ones were correct. The float heights are good. Is there a kit you could recommend for my year (1999)? Any suggestions?
    Many Thanks

    • @MichaelZZRrider
      @MichaelZZRrider  Před rokem

      The standard size of the jets for your bike is: Cylinder 1+4 is 160. Cylinder 2+3 is 158. Main air jet is 70. Pilot jet is 38. Pilot Air Jet is 120. Starter Jet is 58. I am no expert, but I would probably start with using Dynajet. This is the link for your 1999 ZZR. www.dynojet.com/amfile/file/download/file/744/product/3333/

    Hi there I am Having issues with my zzr1100 D. it is cranking but not staring is it because of that so called ignition key resistor.

    • @MichaelZZRrider
      @MichaelZZRrider  Před 8 měsíci

      Hi mate, a common issue, which I and many owners have had is a battery problem. The bike turns over but will not fire. Checking the battery reveals that the voltage seems ok but the problem is " cranking power". If the battery spins the starter at even 10% slower the bike will not start. This has happened to me several times. I now use Hi Power Yuasa.

    • @rommelmacisaacantivola307
      @rommelmacisaacantivola307 Před 8 měsíci

      Thank you for the feedback, also the problem started when i road the bike for a few kilometer and it started to loose power and slowly die. Until it completely stop and it was cranking but no start. Checking for sparks there was none. fuel is good though

    • @MichaelZZRrider
      @MichaelZZRrider  Před 8 měsíci

      The ZZR does not have any electronic element to the ignition key mate.
