Because you recommended it a long time ago I started using the Koh Gen Do #143 and cannot wear anything else! People often comment on how amazing my skin looks. At 68 that means a lot. I have tried other foundations but people can always tell and they insist that the Koh Gen Do is my perfect foundation Thank you for the perfect recommendation.

i just wish sheer glow was available in a LIGHT olive shade; people always assume olive undertones are only for medium-tan shades.
So true! I am a little less olive and more on the yellow side, so it translates very pale olive and I am more light to light-medium....so hard to find foundation shades that do not translate too dark or too orange on me!!
I have the same problem (i'm fair olive) and I found a lot of helpful threads on reddit! Guadaloupe is for light-medium olive. That's my shade I'm around NC 25 if that helps.
Columbine C oooooh thank you! I heard Melissa say she uses that shade, so I didn’t even think it could work for me because I’m lighter than she is. I just checked the website and see that it’s only one shade after the one I currently use, so it’s probably gonna be my perfect match! 🙌🏽
SamJazification lol I’m on that subreddit and they helped me confirm I’m a light cool yellow with an olive undertone. The only foundation that works well with my post-accutane skin is sheer glow, but I see they added my shade so I’m set now.

Heads up dry skin ladies, Nars sheer glow clings to dry patches. Just wanted to give that heads up.
Jackie Smith that happened to me! I have been trying it for a few weeks, and it clung to a dry patch on my cheek that I didn’t even know I had- even after just exfoliating and moisturizing well. I feel like it sits on top of my skin too. Thinking of returning it.
Annette Castiglioni yeah I’ve tried it with all types of moisturizing primers and it still clung to my dry patches for some reason. I really wanted to like it but it didn’t work with my dry skin.
i have dry skin and it's perfect on me. just wanted to offer a different perspective. everyone should go try it on and wear for the day.
I actually had a sales associate at a Chanel counter ask me if I had a skin condition while trying out this foundation, the only foundation my skin absolutely hates!
Jackie Smith I had the same problem but I mix my face oil (which is rose hip oil) in with it and it turns out flawless. I use a 1:1 ratio

i watched your insta story when you talked about the dior forever foundation and went to the event for it. i just picked up a sample last week and with two uses im already convinced its the BEST foundation to have ever touched my face. also helps that youre olive too because your shade helped me find my match. I live in Southeast Asia and Koh Gen Do only costs USD4 more than NARS (excluding the pump, so if I got the pump nars would be more expensive) so I’m definitely gonna grab a bottle now! Thanks Melissa!!

I haven't tried any of these foundations. Nars Radiant is the one I am most interested in trying (and probably will once I am in the market for a high end foundation again). I don't know if Koh Gen Do goes deep enough for my skin tone (I am an NC44 or NC43 in MAC) but it sounds amazing. Great to know your faves!

I love a few of your favourites and completely agree with everything you said, face and body is my OG if I can’t be bothered to do my make up I put that on with some concealer and bronzer and done, the koh gen do looks amazing but the shade range isn’t so big ❤️
Sheer glow is my faaav and I'm oily, I just set it like you sugested, I'm not a fan of applying foundation with my fingers but it works like a charm with this one :)

My currents favorites are make up for ever ultra hd, Giorgio Armani luminous silk, and Dior forever and face and body! I really want to try NARS sheer glow and natural radiant and Mac face and body next! Btw I also mix between so many shades throughout the year!!!

The Koh Gen Doh website let's you order samples of the foundation for a few bucks. The sample packs also come with a coupon towards a full size bottle. Worth checking out to find your shade and see if you love it. I personally will buy another bottle once I get thru my current foundation. I really miss it! Lol

I have tried 90% of the foundations you mentioned and I love all of them! We are also literally the same shade, when u picked up MAC face and body I knew I was gunna sub. You would love the Chanel vita lumiere, give it a try! Feels good to see makeup tutorials on someone with Olive undertones!

I often mix the Koh Gen Do with a tiny bit of Estee Lauder Double Wear and it looks soooo good and lasts super long!

Great info!! I’d love to see you apply the Mac Face and Body! I have it and it just doesn’t seem to work for me! I’d love to see if there is something different I need to do especially since Spring and Summer are right around the corner!!
She uses a flat paddle brush and then uses a beauty blender. She also recommends using her hands to blend it out 😊 I normally use my hands or a flat brush and then lightly blend it out with a beauty blender because it tends to move around easily.

I love to hear people’s faves, plus I’m always on the lookout for the perfect foundation. So yes, I really appreciate this video:) Two that I haven’t tried but have wanted to are the Koh Gen Do and Armani. I see that the Armani has a mini😏. I’ve always wanted to try Maybelline’s Dream Cushion, but would always end up buying something else. Are they discontinuing it? I cannot find it anywhere and have heard people say it is. Idk why they would since so many people love it. There are a few on eBay, but not in my shade. I actually just purchased Wet n Wild’s cushion but haven’t tried it yet.

What are your thoughts on Nars All Day Weightless Luminous? I have oily skin and it looks good when I first apply it but thru out the day it breaks up around my nose/mouth area and I live in hot sweating country haha n I find it slowly wears off from morning till late afternoon...

Makeup forever hd is by far the best foundation out there! I just wish it had more coverage! It looks amazing in photos and looks like skin in person.

FitnLovinit I’ve always loved the pro matte but this one might be my new holy grail!!
Paula Stumbo it’s crazy how much my skin has changed. I used to use pro matte but since I use face oils at night my face produces less oil and I can use it anymore. Even pro glow isn’t dewy enough. I still have like 4 backups of the CoverGirl ready set gorgeous which is similar in finish to pro glow mixed with pro matte (I got them for like $3 each lol). I think so far the CoverGirl vitalist has the best finish at the drugstore but I will check this out once I get through some of my backups! 😂😂
