Needs are very less-
1) white coat (buy after entering medical college… various colleges have different requirements for them)
2) Books (do research and then buy…. Buying randomly is waste of money, you won’t even open them)
3) You don’t need full dissection kit- need scalpel, tooth and non tooth forceps, one long scissor, that’s it. Few gloves. (Most colleges demonstrate already dissected specimen with little hands on in curriculum but with initiative a student must dissect even if it is a few times as possible)
4) Might want a stethoscope (microtone)…. But you will barely use it in 1st year…. Yet get it, you will need it later so getting now will make you feel more doctor and it is a necessary mindset.
5) Must have a bone set….. as it helps a lot to visualise and clear concepts. Get a model from Amazon at 9000 but get one
6) Tablet or iPad is completely optional….. you might need in 2nd year onwards when you know how to study in MBBS but in 1st year it will waste a lot of time. Ready physical books at its place. Buy a baseline iPad if you can…. As the ios ecosystem is very clean and the iPad will last a lot more than an android tablet, but here you can choose.

Just wait 1 to 2 yrs and watch it go crazy I am using ipad 9th gen since 2021 and it will get updates till 2027 in the price of 28k its more value for money !

I would recommend every first year med students to stick to standard books first, you can buy a tab in the 3rd year itself due to massive books. Else everything is perfect!

Hiii, do you recommend buying a tab and having all the textbooks on it or should i buy textbooks as well? Coz i wanted to buy an ipad and not buy textbooks at all and use library textbooks may be and pdfs on ipad ?
with iPad you don’t really need physical books. In hostel life, physical books are burdensome to some extent. So logically iPad is enough. But again, you study medicine without books is looked down upon. I won’t suggest you to buy books with iPad, but if you ever feel the need, always buy the gold standard books only, smaller objective exam oriented books always on iPad.
Eg. in 2nd year, you will fell the need to buy Robbins, but it depends.

It's enough for me, if you want , take the more storage one, or u can always use SD card

Screen time will increase much if we will start reading pdfs..even online lectures will be watched..
Can't we rely on books which are concised like mastering bd chaurasiya and revising everytime from the book and not from notes..

Depends on why would you need a tab , but my recommendation would be to go for one

ofcourse not! the main purpose of buying either of those is to see pdfs and videos clearer than on a smaller screen :)
the thing is, there are certain study material apps that arent accessible on laptops, so for that you would need a tablet..baaki for pdf and video lectures from yt.. laptop would suffice

@@Indianlifestyle99if you got an mbbs seat in govt medical College the entire college fees won't be that high as compared to self financing college and u can also apply for education loan if it is needed by showing your income certificate and all other necessary documents
Age is not a factor in persuing any degree if u truly love becoming a doctor just go for it. If u getting enough opertunities to write the exam don't ruin it with unnecessary thoughts like what will others think.
