Nice review! I've got plenty of other suggestions about where to go and what to do, but right off the bat, I noticed that you missed the main part of the boardwalk over the water. Next time, either park at Boulevard Park and walk directly to Fairhaven, or vice versa, via the South Bay Trail and Taylor Dock. The most scenic part of the walk was beyond the area that you visited in the video. Other suggestions, Bloedel Donovan park on Lake Whatcom, or the Hertz Trail along the east side of Lake Whatcom, walk the flat 2.6 mile loop trail around Lake Padden, visit Zuanich Park and walk around Squalicum Marina for views of boats, Bellingham, and the islands, For something different, head down to the waterfront on the side of downtown and check out the Trackside area in the summer. Big beer garden but very kid-friendly with many food trucks, music, and big grassy area to sit on and enjoy a nice day. Exploring a bit, head south from Fairhaven and check out the beautiful water views at Woodstock Farm, and the lovely scenic (and short) coastal route of Chuckanut Drive, home to Larrabee State Park (take the new trail down to Clayton Beach, or up the mountain to Pine and Cedar Lakes). Continue on to famous Taylor Shellfish for oysters (amazing setting on the water), and continue down to the very quaint town/village of Edison, with charming restaurants (I suggest Terramar Brewstillery for their pizzas and view of the coastal mountains). Easy access to I-5 to head back home. Hope these help for next time. Keep up the good work!
It brightened my day to see this video come up on my feed. I actually live in the area you explored. You are correct in that there is outdoor movies in that village green area. It's every Saturday evening throughout the summer. There are a lot of events throughout the year, most notable are Dirty Dan Murder Mystery weekend (every April), Fairhaven Festival -which is part of the Ski to Sea races (end of May), and after Thanksgiving the Inn hosts horsecarriage rides and photos with Santa Claus (that's every Saturday through xmas. There's also the Community Boating Center where you can rent kayaks, or go to the Bellingham Terminal for a list of different day, afternoon, and sunset cruising options that depart from there. It's a wonderful place to live, walker friendly for sure. Both Fairhaven and Bellingham have an events website. Next time you come (if you do :-)) definitely keep an eye out for the historical markers on the ground. They'll tell you what the old buildings used to be. Didn’t know Bellingham was more than shopping at the mall there and catching cheap flights from their airport!! Definitely going to have to check it out. Also i noticed a trend, Skylar falls asleep when on any bridge!! Omg she’s so cute!!!!!!

haha! It's a great reward for having to push Skylar uphill😂 IKR! Sometimes we realize that we may be overthinking this but you want everyone to also experience what you're experiencing as much as possible. Like they're in the table with you eating burgers too 😄

I think that depends on a lot of factors 😊 We find that Bellingham is a nice laid back town with lots of adventure options around. For example, you can easily go on hikes, ski trips and even going North to Canada(It’s only about a 20 minute drive.). Being close to the ocean is a big plus too🌊
We have a feeling this isn't the last time we're going to be visiting Bellingham. Let us know of any other places we should visit down there!😊
