Lure fishing remote Welsh coast

  • Whilst we were exploring the Welsh coast, we came across this lovely little lighthouse. The wind was really starting to pick up, so I hadn't intended on fishing. But while Sarah took a nap, I went off for a walk with the dogs and found a sheltered little cove, which just looked too fishy not to have a go!
If anyone can recommend some reasonable shoes, that cope well with slippery rocks, I'd really appreciate it. I have studded boots for the winter, but my feet would literally cook I those with the weather we're having right now!
    Hope you enjoy the video...

Strumble Head light house, about 5 miles west of Fishguard. Stunning location for fishing. Great video.

Westin Salty single hook lures are great here, use them all the time, amazing lures and Bass killers, worth a try.

Yeah it's very similar to some good spots I fished as a kid on Anglesey!

Best in the morning or late evening, and start winding in as soon as the wedge hits the water don’t let it sink,

I was trying to mix it up a bit, see what worked best, not much doing though!

I use a pair of trekking sandals and just insert in some metal studs at the bottom. You can get Kold Kutter ice cycle studs from Amazon and just mount it on the sandals. Works really well and where I am fishing it's always hot tropical so sandals works really well

A few people have suggested making my own, it sounds like that is the way forward 👍🏼 Always hot tropical sounds good Choon, where in the world are you?

Great video and enjoying all your other videos.
For boots use these as excellent value for money and protect your feet quite well: sports direct, dunlop dakota safety-boots
If loads of sea weed then add some studs: supatracks
You asked about tips or feedback: In this situation I would have used a smallish hooks and rag or lug worm for the Wrasse and possibly Pollack. I bet that spot was full of Wrasse. I seem to have no luck with lures.
Anglesey tight lines is a great video for learning how to fish West Wales.

Cheers for the recommendations buddy! Yeah I agree, would have been an ace spot for wrasse, but I hadn't intended to fish, so didn't have any bait 😞
