  • Australian downhill racer Troy Brosnan is known for his precise, surgeon-like style, so we teamed up with Troy to create a new tread pattern designed to cut the sharpest lines on the mountain!
    Available in 27.5 and 29 x 2.40 sizes in trail and downhill configurations. Maxxis recommends the Dissector as a rear tire for DH/bikepark use, or as a front tire for trail riding.
    Available now!

    Nice to show how much grip a tire has when he is skidding and drifting in almost every turn

    Ran this tire front and back for 2 seasons up here in the PNW and honestly, I know its designed as a dry condition tire but it performs tremendously in the wet as well. Recently switched to a DHR2 on the front with the Dissector on the rear and it just might be my favorite combo ever :D Thanks Troy!

    I'm primarily a trail rider, I ride mix of chunk and flow. Not really hitting any bike parks. I was looking for grip and low rolling resistance. Would the Dissector fit the bill for both front and back?

    • @MaxxisTiresUSA
      @MaxxisTiresUSA  Před 3 lety +2

      That is one option we have seen riders on for sure. also running the Dissector rear and a DHF or DHRII up front is a great setup for that style of riding.

    • @MaxxisTiresUSA

      @@MaxxisTiresUSA I now have my Dissector on the back thanks to WorldWideCyclery. I can't wait to put it through the paces along with a new 2.6 inch DHF. So far I can just tell that it's incredibly lightweight. It doesn't seem particularly wider if any wider than my previous DHRII in 2.3, but it does seem to be a good amount taller from the rim.

    • @zanetaylor7
      @zanetaylor7 Před 4 lety +1

      I went out for some aggressive session’ing near Boulder with a fresh 2.6 dhf and exo dissector in 2.4.
      I have never felt more confident railing berms at speed and carving my lines, don’t touch yer breaks felt more in reach than usual. The bike felt planted, as if I was running more of a DH bike than my 2019 giant trance should. It just ripped.
      It was almost too much grip for me, because there was so much traction I could push it right to the line of having no traction at all and washing out. It wasn’t the usual gradient. It would hold until it couldn’t hold anymore, so I’m going to have to adjust my riding. It’s been a long while since I’ve had two new high end tires on at the same time in my preferred widths. But I’m impressed.
      Time to give it some more well rounded, all mountain, testing. But so far it’s a sound step up.
      I might still prefer a 2.6 dhrii for the front, but I need more miles to really know. The rear tire feels like a great tire for front range Colorado riding which is known for being loose over hard. No tire is perfect out here, it’s all about trade offs.
