  • I use yeast and gelatine to generate carbon dioxide for my freshwater aquarium plants. It's cheaper than using a tank, regulator, and solenoid. Here's how I prepared the equipment and the reaction.

Is there a way to do two tanks at the same time?

Sure, but balancing the outgoing pressure on two diffusers would be a whole lot harder than just slapping together a different bottle. I hope that helps 🤷‍♂

@HeyDude, 👋thx for this practical vid, been thinkng about trying this out. I just watched the MJ one, and the algo spit yours up 😁 too many views to have no comments, so let me fix that 😉 got some good tips in there. I saw you use two sachets of gelatine, (and yes, definitely dont ask where it comes from 😅)
I'm wondering how much that is in volume, I think MJ said he uses three sheets 🤔
how have you found the plant growth since you've been using this system, and have you tried any methods to be able to turn it off overnight? I've seen folks discussing this in the comments of MJs..

Even with 2x 2-liter bottles the C02 on my 40 gal isn't strong enough to suffocate them given the surface agitation my filter's kicking out so I haven't worried about installing a solenoid. The build-up on the bottles would freak me out, anyway. This comment is a good reminder, I've got to make a new bottle. Thanks, dude!
