just a pro tip from a spring onion lover to another, if you soak your chopped spring onion under running water or just water bath for a few minutes and then letting it air dry on a bed of paper towel before refrigeration it could last longer. not only that, it will taste more pleasant. cheers.

@@haylivk using kitchen towels at the bottom of your storage container helps to absorb excess moisture. and you also need to change it every now and then. if you are diligent, it could last up to 5-6 days.
@@Ace-cv1xd thanks for another great tip!! I tried this but forgot to replace them, and they got even soggier over time haha. Im considering if I should switch to those containers with filters/sieves to minimise paper towel usage, but not sure if they'd work as well.
@@haylivk not really, the moisture released wont really...in a sense drip away. its just on the surface and the moisture will just cause it to wilt. thats why its important to let it air dry, or even dry inside the fridge uncovered for a couple hours before you store it away for good. its one of the many little things we do in restaurant kitchens to ensure our produce last as long as they possibly can without impacting flavor and texture.
the lower temperature your fridge is the better it stores too. the fridge i have at home, apparently, is cold enough to semi-freeze spring onions when i keep them sliced 😅 it doesnt negatively impact the produce itself just that it becomes....slightly frozen haha.
