Hornet took several trys on my first play through but now I can beat her on my first try, she's basically there to make people who don't like hard games refund
Also, some people (like me) beat her first fight too easily, but her second and much harder fight just has an amazing feel, like she was going easy on "just another vessel" at first
Also took me several times to beat. But already on that stage I knew it's going to get *way worse*

First time I beat her, shit took me like, 20 tries. Second time, it only took 5. Weird.

Hornet was such a cool boss on my playthrough that i actually kept dying on purpose to make the fight last longer, and i really enjoyed every second.

@@gollygosh the only playlist that I can find from Christopher Larkin is the Gods & Nightmares soundtrack, but I'm talking about the other more popular videos with a few million views that were removed for some reason.

The meter fluctuates really nicely between a 6/8 and 3/4 feel. Same amount of time, but different emphases on the beats

I somewhat agree, it's mostly compound time with a 12/8, swapping to a 4/4 time in the very fast part before the repeat, but the alternation within the same tempo is nice

If you listen closely, at 0:16 you can hear the melodic motif used in The White Lady and The White Palace. A subtle nod to her royal status as the Warrior Princess of Hallownest!
I love this song so much. Honestly, I love the entire SOUNDTRACK so much, but Hornet has always stuck out to me in particular as being an amazing, memorable, actually really fun song. So fun, in fact, that I'm working on writing dance coreography to it. I'm not a dancer. Or a coreographer. And I'm probably even spelling that wrong. Thank you, Christopher Larkin, for making this beautiful and amazing soundtrack, William Pellen and Ari Gibson and all of the others for making this beautiful and amazing game, and thank you, Amellifera, for allowing us all to hear the soundtrack on CZcams from our couches at home when we need a bit of Hollow Knight in our day. Also thank you to the person who originally uploaded the soundtrack, which unfortunately got taken down. My job here is done. Shaw.

After watching the floor routine during gymnastics at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, I wondered if any individual athlete or team used music from a video game soundtrack for the choreography. That made me consider this theme, sped up to 1.25x to fit within the 90 second time limit for a floor routine. I agree with the other comments about this song being intense and urgent yet elegant and classy, fitting with the character.
This would be an Olympic first if it happened. (Hope no one in the live audience shouts any of Hornet's battle cries.)
I played this game for the first time recently. Amazing themes and atmosphere throughout the game and the OST really pulled it all together.

Two moment really stick out to me.
1:13 - This was the very first time I staggered Hornet. I thought this musical stinger was intentional, but it was merely coincidental. Still, I liked how nicely it was time to my gameplay.
1:36 - I died at this very point on my second Steel Soul attempt to Hornet 2. From this point up until 1:47 is what I will always remember to be my Game Over screen.

This soundtrack is interesting. It feels like a constant 3/4 time signature but it actually switches between 3/4 and 6/8.

God, that one string bass note at 0:04 sounds so freaking good. It's the perfect amount of punchy and bouncy, both to match the intensity of the fight you're in and the thematic touches of Hornet's agility and speed.

Just fought Hornet a second time today and she’s a whole different level than from the beginning. Honestly the enemies that weren’t infected were really the most enjoyable bosses do to the fight style being of a duel.

I'd like to tell you something, the SHAW has a meaning in my language but it's written scio' which you pronounce the same way.
It's an exclamation you say when you incitate something or somebody to go away, you say: "scio',scio' out of the house, kids" for example.
I think that's very fitting as Hornet always wants you to go away everytime you fight her.

i wish hornet 1 had a lot lot more health in godhome just so i can heal to full health and appreciate the soundtrack
i brute forced my way through hornet 2 and second tried it with 3 masks remaining, i didn't heal at all, so i like hornet 2 as it is or it'll be really hard to dodge
i love playing through this game and seeing how much inspiration ekko: convergence took from it. This reminded me of the camille fight so hard
