The influence of Terry Riley ‘s “ Rainbow 🌈 in Curved Air “ is pretty important ! ( * as it was a trippy album to chill out to in those days , and early minimalist sequencing in electronics. ) Pete Townsend acknowledged the music of Terry Riley early work .

Keith Moon's last live performance. The Who performed "Baba O'Riley" and "Won't Get Fooled Again" before an invitation only audience at Shepperton Studios for use in the 1979 documentary film about them titled, The Kids Are Alright. That's a fun film. Check it out when you can.

I saw them in t78 bout the same time as this video in Portland Oregon. Only a few months before Keith died I think. Standing next to the late great Bill Walton. Was a great concert.

Would love to see you react to the video of Roger Daltrey (Who vocalist) performing with Queen at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert on their song "I Want It All". When Daltrey hits the stage, the entire crowd at Wembley Stadium erupts into pandemonium! Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath is also onstage for this song. Queen had never performed "I Want It All" live. And so it was really amazing to see them perform it with Roger Daltrey doing the lead vocals. The energy from the band and from the audience at that gig is off the charts.

Synthesizer Entwistle. Hi from your friend in Baja Mexico on the beach . I saw the Who from 75 on most years in NY MSG, Long Island Arena, Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo a bunch. LOVE it!!!! They had synth pedals for the keys and guitars

"bargain" version live en 2000 au Royal Albert hall (very great). Dans le même concert, il y a le titre "My Wife" de Who's next, c'est de la bombe.

I must have seen them do this 14 times, I guess, because that's how many times I've seen them, starting in 73 and continuing to their last tour. I met Roger once, and absolutely couldn't come up with anything to say! I got my picture with him and got his autograph, but I'd have liked to have actually said something! My wife carried on a conversation with him, albeit a short one.

Biz, you never fail to impress. It's a great song and I love them live, but you called out what I saw right away too. You mentioned that Pete must have been on something, I've seen several reactors react to this performance And all of them will just discuss how they enjoy their energy and how much fun they must have been having. I've been a guitar player and musician for 35 years and I promise you that Pete had fully indulged in the 'Bolivian marching powder' that night. Back then we all enjoyed a little of that with some whiskey, the women preferred champagne (Christine McVie's Pre-Show combo). But hey, more power to him, he had a great time and he nailed the performance. What can you say to that, nothing!🤘☮️
You're just very natural at this compared to many of the others, and you've got a big brain and a real ear for music.

    Best live rockband ever.
Well, maybe Thin Lizzy, and maybe Uriah Heep, and maybe....Just kidding. They were awesom rockbands, but The Who was something else.
    Best sound i've ever heard.

LOVE Who !!!They have been one of my favorite bands since I was a kid and bought all their hit songs on 45 records. Sadly, I never saw them live, thank you YT for letting us see their live act now. Each member was such an individual character. Roger ia a great singer, but quite serious and sober in his privte life - didn't do drugs or party like the others. Keith was a lunatic, John Entwhistle barely moved while playing bass, and Pete was exploding with energy . What fun it must have been to see them in concert. One of their early songs that's fun is "Mama Has a Squeeze box", it's very clever with double entendres. Thanks

As far as Bargain goes, I'm not aware of anything of that song filmed until you get to the early 2000s (that video's worth it... BUT) there is an audio only recording of it live from 71 that will blow your socks off. It's as good as anything from Live at Leeds. No joke.

Also in Ken Russell’s film of Tommy , Keith Moon has a charming cameo as the “ Wicked Uncle Ernie “ , and Tina Turner ( as the “Acid Queen “ ) is super surreal and a bit scary ?

I think Flea could definitely change your mind about the whole laid back bassist stereotype! But, outside of RCHP, that particular piece of the rhythm section does tend to have some easy-going, mellow, even-tempered folk drawn to it...😎

It may be hard to find a clip for "Bargain", although there is a great audio only live version of it from San Francisco in 1971.
Biz, have you listened to "Song Is Over" or "Getting In Tune" from Who's Next?
And there's also a video of The Who performing "Won't Get Fooled Again" from the same concert as this one.
