I don't know why I keep tuning in to listen to gossip.
When there's multiple reports and factors pointing to the same answer then its more than just gossip, you can put 2 and 2 together to read what's happening at the club.

Petracca's was major contact with a knee whereas the Cox contact was very minor in a marking contest you see dozens of times per game. Chalk and cheese.

There is something really wrong at the club. I think there are different standards for some players and that will hurt you when somebody works there butt off and some get it easier.
I said before the season started that the Dees wouldn't play finals - my comment then was that they had some very good players but the rest was horrible. Not the least of which is their senior coach. I have been critical of Simon Goodwin for some time and regard him very close to the bottom of a list rating the coaches from best to worst. Melbourne need a rebuild - not of their playing list but of everything else.
It was clear last year that the culture at the Dees is in complete shambles from the coach down. Talent can only compensate for so much, but then it is all downhill from there.

It’s never going to happen, but I’ve always wanted to see Petracca and Bontempelli playing together. Again though, it is never going to happen. Petracca is as loyal as they come.

my son had more touches last saturday than petty and billings have had combined for 2024. Thats the direction the coaching staff have chosen. No wonder the guys left to carry these blokes are disgruntled. I would prefer to play 2 short in the forward line & I dont think coaching staff, supporters or the opposition would even notice.

On point with the game style. Almost unwatchable. If it’s not working at least produce a watchable game style.and see what comes from that. If it is true I can kinda see why players would be frustrated, seems they are constantly micromanaged to play a certain brand which is just hard to watch.

The media as always push these player rumours which in most cases are just that rumours with little truth behind them but in many cases it starts instability in the clubs which the media then thrive on
Port got hammered last year for their stuff ups with concussion and I’m not saying it was undeserved but what Melbourne have done with these two players especially a life threatening injury like Petraccas and the lack of care from the AFL about it is pathetic

North don’t need more midfielders
Good thought if you are a Kangaroo but it's not so easy in practice. Every single club would love to have Petracca but his price would be enormous and obviously have a huge effect on a club's salary cap. I have no idea how North sits salary cap wise plus Melbourne would want an astronomical price for him as well. As Kane suggests - he probably isn't going anywhere.
Petracca would never come to North, but Viney might. As a North supporter I think the club needs to focus elsewhere. The midfield is developing and gaining in experience. I'm not sure that Viney would make a significant amount of difference to justify the investment. I suspect he will come just the same because of his father.

The way the Demon's handled the Petracca situation (sending him back on) is unforgivable. Even if Christian was OK with it - his parents wouldn't be. Ever.

@@Lee-cc9jf The duty of care was ignored so the trust is gone. He could likely walk due to a breach of contract. No doubt it's written somewhere the players welfare comes first. It's not the 80's anymore. Nor was it the grand final.
@@damojonathon Actually the doctors followed all protocols and Petracca took responsibility for going back on the field. Even that AFL investigation cleared the Melbourne Doctors.
You get a high impact knee to the ribs - you're done for the day. If the Dr's and AFL ticked it off they should all be held to account. The Demon's demise is in full swing.
