השתתפות בועדת מדע וטכנולוגיה למחלות ניווניות של המוח ביום המוח שהתקיים בכנסת ב-17.7.24.
העלאת מודעות למחלה על במה זו, חשובה ביותר, להכרה של המדינה בצורך לטיפול במחלה זו, מכל הבחינות.
אני תמיד מתרגשת לדבר על כך, עם הקושי המלווה בחשיפה האישית שלי ושל משפחתי כנשאי המחלה.
אני מאמינה שהצלחתי להעביר את המסר, שקידום המחקר הוא התקווה שלנו,
והוא שמאפשר לנו להיות אופטימיים!
כבר כעת מתנהל מחקר קליני ראשון בעולם על המחלה, בבי"ח איכילוב.
המחלה הגנטית שכיחה בעיקר בישראל, ולכן חשוב מאוד לבסס כאן את העוגן למחקר עולמי!
פרויקט הדגל שלנו - הביובנק שהקמנו בשיתוף ובתמיכת משרד הבריאות וסורוקה - כללית - כבר צברנו דגימות מ-250 משתתפים - חולים ובני משפחות שמופנות למחקר עולמי על המחלה, למציאת סמנים ואבחון מוקדם, שכל מחקר לטיפול יהיה בעל סיכויי הצלחה טובים יותר, כמו במחלות אחרות, סרטן ועוד.
כמו כן, הביובנק נועד למציאת טריגרים, זיהוי מטרות נוספות לטיפול ואף מניעה.
כבר מספר חוקרים מקדמים את מחקרם על בסיס מאגר זה, ואנחנו ממשיכים ופועלים לקדם עוד ועוד מחקרים.
המחקר והמדע הם התקווה שלנו להביא בשורה למשפחות שלנו ולעולם!
Participation in the Science and Technology Committee for Neurodegenerative Diseases on Brain Day held in the Knesset on 7/17/24.
Raising awareness of the disease at this stage is extremely important for the state's recognition of the need to treat this disease, with more specialists and more research. I'm always excited to talk about it, although my personal exposure and my family's, is always challenging for me. I believe I managed to convey the message, that the advancement of research is our hope!
Things that we promoted are already happening, and the current clinical trial in Ichilov is also a product of activity and connections that we have created along the way.
The genetic disease is prevalent in Israel, so it is beneficial to lay the anchor for global research here!
I am sharing things about our flagship project - the biobank that we established in cooperation with and with the support of the Ministry of Health and Soroka Hospital - Clalit HMO- we have already collected samples from 250 participants - patients and family members who are referred to global research on the disease, to find markers and early diagnosis, that any treatment research will have better chances of success, As in other diseases, cancer and more.
Furthermore, the biobank is intended for finding triggers, identifying additional targets for treatment and even prevention.
Several researchers are already promoting their research based on this database, and we continue and work to promote more and more research.
Research and science are our hope to bring good news to our families and to the world!
