Imagine putting out 2-3 songs a month, releasing MVs, promoting, and staging concerts every month. DAY6 is a legend, I tell you. 2017 was the best time to be a DAY6 fan.

I'll never stop being salty they didn't receive any kind of formal recognition for it at any year end awards, it was an insane feat to pull off.

btw, all songs in 2017 were from their project "everyday6", they wrote, produced, recorded, filmed mvs for and promoted two new songs every month for the whole year. thats why (i noticed chat commenting on it) the mvs were low budget and simple, because they were putting out one a month. we learned later the amount of stress they were under and how hard it was to accomplish.

Hello! I think it was mentioned somewhere before that DAY6 members wrote SEVERAL good songs and the company thought it would be a waste if the songs won't get released. So EveryDay6 was hatched. Honestly, though it was hard for the boys, they accomplished something that was never done before. It also showed how brilliant they were. They amassed several fans in 2017 because of this project, earning them the moniker "Trust and Listen to DAY6" and "Korea's representative band".

@@chewychoco7218 uhm I didn't say that it was from DAY6's pocket. Ofc, JYPE still funds them, but they just barely promote them, u see they only have one reality show in their channel and it's only the even of day that took abt 5 years, unlike Twice that have a lot of reality shows. Plus the fact that they write their own songs and produce it, doing too much work on their music even without the help of others is so tiring. This just shows that DAY6 lacks the opportunity to be promoted on the internet, that's why Jae, the ex member, actually was one of the reason why there's many who became a my day during zombie era bcs this is the era where Jae is in twitch playing while interacting with non kpop fans to promote the band.
Fun fact: Sunrise, the first of two albums that came out of the EveryDay6 Project in 2017, was regarded as one of the most critically acclaimed albums in Kpop.
I LOVE Day6-one of the things for me was that they DO NOT have a bad song, and I’ve even talked to someone that said “I don’t stan Day6 but they don’t have any bad songs” like for realllllll it’s almost hard to tell which songs are title tracks and which are b-sides because they’re all title track worthy by far my favorite group

No skip discography esp the B-sides. They write their own songs & are 7th (YoungK, bass, lyricist), 20th (Wonpil, keys), 31st (Jae, guitar) & 40th (Sungjin, guitar) on the 2022 charts of idols with most copyrights. As part of their training, they were told to compose & can only debut when their songs r approved. Funfact, Sungjin aka leader had to learn the raspy singing style & picked up the guitar 3 months b4 debut. Another fun fact, JYP decided to form them as a band cos… (drum roll pls) … most of them cant dance or dance as well as the other trainees 😂 Our win, I say 💕

Thanks for the reaction. I haven’t listened to Day6 in a while. Their album “The Book of us: Entropy” is amazing. They seem to tackle so many genres. Their vocals are some of the best in the industry, imo.
when it comes to day6 most people realize pretty quickly that even the hypest sounding songs have such depressing lyrics lmaoo young k is such a sad lyricist

You've got the check out all of their albums from top to bottom! Their b-sides are truly great. If i had to choose a favourite I'd go with "The Book Of Us: Demon" though, The Book of Us: Entropy is a wild ride in terms of genres. Though those are later albums in The Book of Us series so it would probably be best to go in order through their discography, to follow the journey!

Day6 will always be one of my ult group. All songs are so good and they're so talented. Also JYPE have a new boy band called Xdinary Heroes. They are Day6 junior in the company. I sure you'll also love them, XH is more on the Rock side compared to Day6.

B sides on their first 2 albums are really really good. Freely, out of my mind, habits, like the sun, sing me, blood , hunt and so the rest of their b sides no exceptions. If you want a more of their rock side listen to their japan album Unlock.

Letting Go which I don't remember is 100% confirmed but it's what everyone agrees on is about the ex member who was kicked out after debuting that's why he's only in the Congratulations mv.
School trilogy basically the girl and Jae are best friends, Sungjin and Wonpil are best friends, Sungjin is in love with the girl and Wonpil is in love with Sungjin, Jae likes the barista girl, the girl ends up liking Young K and it seems Young K likes her back (Young K is kinda the guy no body likes bc he's "cold") and Dowoon is rich and smart so he's liked by girls but he's just a lonley rich boy who doesn't get any attention from his parents.
WONPIL is pronounced like WON (as in like victory) - PEEL (like orange's)

I’ve always made it a point to check out other Jyp groups because my ults were Wonder Girls and now Twice, but I never knew I’d be such a huge fan of Day6. Their songs put me in such a mood. Their albums are always no skips and their discography is sooo extensive. My goal is to watch them live and hopefully I can do thay soon.

I remember The Devil Wears Prada! Saw them live a couple times too. First time they were still a newer band and the singer looked like he was going through puberty. Then saw them years later and he was super jacked. My brother and I were speechless at his metamorphose.
If you haven't yet, I would recommend looking up I Need Somebody by Day6. The song has an amazing build to it and a nice. Surprising drum fill towards the end.

17:30 if you ever give how can i say a relisten, you'll notice at this part that the members come in one by one w their vocals according to their instruments! wonpil and his synth come first, dowoon ofc with his drums in the background, then youngk with bass and then sungjin and jae with their guitars!

I think the b-sides are more like feelings songs. The title track are more like the song to presentations n had this pop vibes songs, but when i introduce to my friends always put the b-sides. The Wish, First time, Wanna go back, Somehow, 1 to 10, So lets love...

Day6 was one of the best thing that happened in K-pop. I was the verge of putting K-pop behind, until I was introduced to day6. Their music definitely healed me❤
day6 has so many great songs with good lyrics but dance dance tops it for me just because of how chill that song is and if I remember correctly, they made it just to dance too which I thought was funny.

day6 are one of my favourite groups, they make up quite a large portion of my main playlist I listen to most of the time.
If I can be a bit cheeky and recommend another group, they're called "Dreamcatcher". Dreamcatcher are a kpop girl group, like IVE, but they have more emphasis on a rock or j-rock sound, mixing it with pop and edm. Their latest song is called "Vision" if you want to check it out, they're another of my all time favourite groups along with day6. Both groups are just amazing

@@dailysamira sorry for the late reply. I can't think of many groups like dreamcatcher but there's a couple of individual songs that have a similar vibe. "Heart skip a beat" by PURPLEKISS gives off some of dreamcatcher's older title tracks kind of vibe, if you don't mind more "generic kpop" kind of songs then their other stuff is also pretty good imo. "Love Taker" by pritti-g is another similar in style to dreamcatcher. "Under cover" by A.C.E is another worth checking out.
For groups similar to day6 I can recommend other kbands like onewe and n-flying. Rolling quartz are an all female korean rock band. I also recently came across a korean band called "IZ" with their song "EDEN"
