    The 437ps looks like a great boat, and I'm really happy a Paddleski is back on the market.
    I'm probably one of the biggest fans of the Paddleski design out there. It's my favorite boat in the world. When the 435ps was discontinued, I bought a spare in case something happened to mine, used approx 450 times in the past decade at more than 125 locations. Hopefully you'll soon see our story of our adventures that was written by Sea Eagle last year, but held back from Sea Eagle's blog because the Paddleski was no longer available.
    The 437ps is different, but still largely the same. It's not a radically different approach.
    It is clearly going to go more than double the speed of the previous model, with a larger 5 or 6HP motor. The rigid floor will be better for people that like to stand and cast.
    One question a lot of us 435ps Paddleski owners are wondering is.....How is paddling performance vs the 435ps? The 435ps was sold as a "kayak" that could take beyond a trolling motor unlike other inflatable kayaks, and made a great sailing platform with it's catamaran hulls too. "Paddling" was clearly important on the 435ps. Many people that bought them only paddled them. Comparing it to all of the other Sea Eagle kayaks, I believe it ranked in the middle for paddling performance ahead of the SE370/330, and I believe slightly above the Explorer too. Even after paddling my friend's Fast Track a couple times, I didn't find the Paddleski to be way behind in speed. I just bought a Razorlite to add to my Sea Eagle fleet. I expect that to paddle much faster than any of your other kayaks. I own three SE330's too.
    The 437ps is wider than the 435ps, which is generally not a positive change for paddling. Sea Eagle's online photos show the use of a couple with kayak paddles on the 437ps, so it must still have some paddling (hence the name) ability. But I also noticed, the manual for the 437ps states "PADDLING: The 437ps is wider than most kayaks, at 4 feet wide, it can be difficult to paddle for extended periods. The boat can be used without a motor but was designed to be used with a motor."
    Unlike the 435ps, the 437ps is not in the "kayak" category on Sea Eagle's web site, but rather under the "boats" category. Are they trying to market this new model to a different audience? The 435ps was clearly loved by many people into "kayaking" specifically. I'd love to see a comparison of the paddling performance between the two models. Clearly, motoring speed has been improved. I'm wondering if the new rigid floor would improve motoring performance even with a slower motor over the 435ps? My Torqeedo 1003s maxes out in speed at about 3/4 throttle. Something about the changes made has caused the 437ps to have a much faster hull under motor.
    My other thoughts are, perhaps Sea Eagle intended to make the Paddleski a series rather than just offering one model? I can envision the 437ps targeted at motoring at faster speeds with larger motors, and at fishing. And......a 2nd model aimed at people that really care about......well....paddling! I'd love to see a new drop stitch model that paddles more like say, the Razorlite, but that still offers the catamaran design ideal for sailing, and that can still take up to a 3HP motor unlike any of your other kayaks.

      Thank you for watching and for your wonderful interest, input, and loyal support! While the new 437ps was designed primarily for motoring and secondly for paddling we are always in the process of designing. Without letting the cat completely out of the bag...your thoughts may already be in the works.

    I was so sad when my Paddleski 435 died last year after many years of service. Even though I just bought a FoldCat last year to replace it (I would have waited if I had known a new Paddleski was coming along), I couldn't resist when I saw the new Paddleski 437 in stock so I bought one. Took it out on the Withlacoochee River at Silver Lake today and I absolutely love it. I ran it with my 3.5hp Merc and it actually got on the plane with both me and my wife, but barely. My 6hp Tohatsu arrives Tuesday so I can't wait to try it out with the 6hp next weekend. The only thing I'll point out thus far is I was not able to easily assemble it following the video. I'm just not as buff as Dan, and I have some years on him too. However, I did find it was a bit easier to assemble if I attached the front crossbar and installed the transom before airing it up. Hats off to Sea Eagle once again for a totally awesome inflatable!

    I like the design and just ordered one. However I'd like to see the following improvements:
    1. Add more D rings for example for attaching Tall Back Seats. Unless they can be attached on the current D rings on the floor?
    2. Add 2 more Scotty mounts in front.
    3. Add a Slide Skeg on each side. Is there a kit that is sold separately that can be glued to the boat?
    4. Add 2-4 more D rings to attach equipment.

    There aren’t any specs on the website. Heat welded seams or glued ? How thick is pvc ? I don’t see any rub strakes on the bottom of tubes ? Is there an extra (double) layer of protection on the bottom? For 1400$ I need more info to purchase this over a heavy duty kaboat that has all these features for only 899$ I’m a huge fan of sea eagle so I hope you can move me towards this over the kaboat.

    • @SeaEagleBoats
      @SeaEagleBoats  Před 3 lety +3

      Thank you for your expressed interest in the Sea Eagle PaddleSki. Here are some advantages over the kaboat. The PaddleSki is lighter by 13 lbs., is more efficient due to the catamaran hull design, can travel the same speed with 1/2 the horsepower, is more fuel efficient, is constructed with both heat welded and double-overlapped glued seams, does not have double-layer floor protection or rub strake to the underside but the PVC material is .90 mm while most on the market use .70 mm, has 5 independently separate air chambers for added safety while the Kaboat has 3, the transom can be removed, max load capacity is 85 lbs more at 855 lbs., has comfortable cushioned high-back swivel seats instead of bench seats, and doesn't need skegs.
      Keep in mind the PaddleSki is a catamaran hull and not a flat-bottom hull like the kaboat so the ride is infinitely better providing more cushion instead of slapping. The PaddleSki also comes with Scotty Pads for use with a vast array of Scotty accessories, 3-Year Extendable Warranty, Free shipping to the lower 48 states, and a 120 Day Water Trial Period Money Back Guarantee if purchased directly from SeaEagle.com. Sea Eagle has also been in business (family owned and operated) for well over 50 years. We believe that's more than double Saturn who designed the kaboat.

    • @SeaEagleBoats
      @SeaEagleBoats  Před rokem

      Aloha @jamesyango1602, it does a little when going in reverse at high throttle or when there's a following sea. However, it is one of the fastest self-bailing hulls on the market. So the water exits during forward throttle. You can also minimize this by using an idle throttle when in reverse.
      I've been meaning to test it without the bow yoke bar but I most always use mine with a bow mount trolling motor and cameras. Guess I should leave them behind at some point. However, I don't see it being a huge issue to use it without. It you try it, I'd love to hear how it performed.

    • @SeaEagleBoats
      @SeaEagleBoats  Před rokem +1

      Hello Road Notes RV, there is no best way just many ways. The PaddleSki, like all Sea Eagle products, can be folded in many different ways to suit one's needs. It is best to decide what folded size suits your needs best and see if you can get it there. The end folded size with the transom and front bar still attached will be much larger than without. It's more of just starting at the back end and rolling or folding the PaddleSki forward. No special tricks or anything. Just roll or fold.

    • @SeaEagleBoats
      @SeaEagleBoats  Před rokem

      Aloha @user-ey2sx8tw6c, it might take on a little water if you go in reverse quickly or if there's waves or swells when going in reverse. To offset this I reverse at low idle. However, it's also one of the fastest self-bailing hulls on the market. As soon as you forward throttle it will self-bail.
      I've been meaning to test the PaddleSki without the front yoke bar but I almost never go without my bow mount trolling motor and cameras. I guess I'd better try leaving them behind at some point. If you test it please let me know how it turns out.

    • @SeaEagleBoats
      @SeaEagleBoats  Před 4 měsíci +1

      We do not recommend an air compressor as they can over inflate the boat and void the warranty. We recommend our one of our electric pumps as they are designed to push larger amount of air to inflate the boat faster but also can be set to the exact rated pressure of the boat. In this case it would be 3.2PSI for the pontoons and 10PSI for the floor. www.seaeagle.com/Accessories/pumps/bp12-analog-auto-stop-single-stage-pump

      My 435ps has been used approx 450 times at over 125 different locations in the decade I've had it. When it was discontinued, I bought a spare. I love paddling, motoring it with my Torqeedo, and sailing it with the Sunfish style lateen sail rig. It's 3 boats in one for me, and I enjoy doing all 3 activities while on a single trip on the water. Sail in the areas where the wind is ideal, motor where it is less than ideal, and paddle around the beautiful shorelines. Sailing & paddling extend the range of the electric motor battery. This is also an ideal boat to sail for novices as it offers great stability, and you generally stay dry unlike a Sunfish or Hobie. It's a great sight seeing boat for us as we don't fish.
