Margaret Thatcher agreed to fund commercial land redistribution in Zimbabwe made under a 1979 Lancaster House agreement. As usual the west went back on its word, a new PM, Blair refused to honour the agreement where the British were to compensate the farmers so they refused to leave. Mugabe made them leave. The sanctions EU and US ruined Zimbabwes economy not the change in farmers.
And now Zimbabwe is being punished as an example to the rest of Africa that if they defy the west they will suffer the same fate.
