I’ve watched several uboat vids. You are the first one I’ve seen that actually understands how to reduce speed to turn faster. You down shifted going into the turn and shifted up coming out. Not many do this.
Been wondering an effective way to play subs, this helped
What I see is a submarine that went undetected and unharmed for 85% of the battle, and only faced minimal threat at the end, mostly by staying 8+km from everything so they couldn't be reached by depth charge planes. Yet somehow I should be impressed at the skill of this commander and what this submarine can do?
Well, you can say the same for shimakaze. 5.6 conceal and can stay undetected for the whole battle (given no cvs). Subs aren't that bad, unlike cvs they take some skill to master.

@@AlphonseSantoro No you can't. Where did you see a Shima homing torps and going fully invisible under water with detection ranges like 2,5km? Anyone can start the battle, go to the border of the map and stay invisible, not just Shimakaze. It's not that subs are all over the place so i look at them like bugs, crap that ruins gameplay, something that pops up once in a while and you try to kill it so that it doesn't ruin what could be a good battle. Players don't even interact with sub players, they just despise them. Subs don't add anything to gameplay. Absolutely nothing, it's just a game annoyance.
Like CVs, Subs are meant to be used by those whose limitations are so severe that they can't play any other class. Obviously, it's also a cheater magnet but that doesn't care because they love money, much, much more than thinking of enjoyable battles or game mechanics and balance.
These pseudo-arguments, to prove that subs are a good addition to the game, are straight up laughable.

@@ROrneli There's many ways but none is effective since subs are broken. The idea is to launch depth charges in a way they hit the sub. Most DDs launch them to the sides, others like Forrest Sherman from the back and Groningen launches them a few hundred meter ahead. You must give some time for the depth charge to sink and detonate. In other classes you have planes that have a certain range to go and drop the charges but it's also not effective.

They look pretty overpowered...
Not really, been playing subs consistently trying to get a feel for them. The reason I say they are not OP is because they have a very limited window of effectiveness, like if you are too close to a ship you cannot use the tracking torps at all. Even the short range ships have a long arming window. Then there are the new debiffs like oil being visible if you get damaged, and your sonar pings are visible to enemy ships. The second you let off a sonar ping every ship strats using their depth charge airstrike and if you get hit and show oil they will nuke you. The reason he even got so many kills is because most of the ships he fired torps at are not moving and are just staying put behind islands or moving very slow. . In a normal game you can expect 1-2 kills.torpedo boats like the shimakazi are much more effective with torp kills. Subs are just good at spotting and stealth. But if you are detected you die

@@michylogos4612 I am hoping they improve the torpedo damage because they are almost completely useless. And anyone that damage cons can wipe your sonar ping away.

since forever. Being selected and having torps fired at you is potential damage.

Это называется баланс....(( ПЛ спокойно уходит от двух ЭМ и легко топит их - тех ЭМ, которые вообще то должны гонять ПЛ - это одна из их основных функций.

Disgusting. As a lover of sub games--Silent Service, Aces of the Deep, the Silent Hunter series, etc--and a player who was looking forward to seeing them in the game, the way WoW implemented subs into the game is simply disgusting (and people complained about my aircraft carriers being OP).
1. Speed. Wtf? I am a historian and I know that WWII era subs never moved that fast under water--except maybe the U-2501.
Suggested solution: We can talk about doubling their underwater speed since it is a fast paced game, but that speed under water is obscene.
2. Reloading. Wtf? Those reloads are way too fast. Part of the trill in playing sub games is inventing new ways to dodge, confuse and mislead the enemy destroyers between reloads before lining up for hat perfect shot at either them or a fatter target.
Suggested solution: Slower reload and historically limited ammo with a reload zone in the rear of friendly territory. Being able to use their deck gun--not sure if you can or not already, have not seen anyone use one yet--would help if they were low on torpedoes. Maybe fire off a star shell to make an area around a ship more visible to friendly units. But no more spamming!
3. Guided torpedoes. WTF!?!?!? Are you kidding me? They do not even have to aim anymore! WTF!? ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!
Suggested solution: NO MORE GUIDED TORPEDOES! The closet anyone came to that were the Germans with their acoustic guided torpedoes--they would chase the loudest sound in front of them--and the Japanese with their human-guided suicide torpedoes. Let sub players line up their shots and aim for a change. I am sure they can do it.
Amen. After many years, and many $$$ invested in this game, these abominations finally drove me away from the game as it did to many others that understand how real wwii submarines operated. Just obscenely OP.
