What If Super Mario Maker 2 Had a Super Mario Bros. 2 Style? (SMM2 Complete Mod)

- Here is a mod that replaces nearly all of Super Mario Maker 2's Super Mario Bros. style with a Super Mario Bros. 2 style! This changes nearly every Super Mario Bros. sprites and themes. Nintendo released an update for SMM2 that added the Mario 2 mushroom that changes the gameplay to that of Super Mario Bros. 2 so that combined with this mod is like having a legit Super Mario Bros. 2 style!
Toadette is replaced by Peach, Bowser Jr. with Birdo and Bowser with Wart. All small sprites are changed to the small character sprites from SMB2 and the regular mushroom acts like a "Super Mario Bros. 1" mushroom, turning the characters into their SMB1 super forms (& Toadette).
I custom made all levels shown exclusively with the mod in mind and showcase all sprite changes through all levels made for the video.

Do a NSMBU mod where Peach is playable instead of Yellow Toad.
It's pretty outrageous they only added it in as a gameplay style, considering the potential that levels themes around SMB2 have.

If they weren't going to add a new style I would have wanted to see an option to set your default powerup. Then when you get hurt they could squish the sprites to half size, no need for new sprites if it's a Mario Maker feature
This is great and all but some of the enemy replacement choices are kind of odd.

Honestly Nintendo's biggest mistake with MM2 is not adding more themes. Like 3D is cool and all, but because it's missing the functionalities other game styles have, it was kind of a let down, and it's really hard for me to make stages with it. But if they just added other retro themes, it would'be been so much cooler.

I also want Super Mario Land, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario 3D Land, Super Mario Odyssey, Wario Land, Donkey Kong Country, and many other styles from Mario games and no Mario games to be added into Super Mario Maker 3.

AMAZING MOD!! Thank you for making it, also I saw that there were airship files but nothing changed for me was it suppose to be like that or did I do something wrong?
I never got around to changing the airship theme, but i put everything in the files because i was lazy. I might update it in the future though

YEAH exactly
They didn't include it because Nintendo probably thought it would be too hard to put another style in the game. Sure, we have the SMB2 Mushroom, but some enemies like Fryguy and Tryclyde were probably too hard to put in. Or the potions that take you to the subworlds! So, it was probably too hard for them or they ran out of time.
Realistically speaking, a SMB2 Theme just wouldn’t have worked in SMM2.
Great mod. I think the bill blasters would look cool as the small pipes. Maybe edit it a little so there are two openings at the top on each side rather than one at the top.
Imagine if Nintendo made a new Mario game based on Super Mario Bros 2. What would it even look like nowadays.

Thank you! Everyone else just uses already made levels which is terrible for showcasing style mods since the levels weren't built with them in mind, I made these to showcase all changed sprites and objects throughout every level combined.

Sorry about the length of my comment, but, as I keep posting in my comments (which, for some reason, people never respond to), regarding how (and, again, both console versions - SNES and NES) SMB2 should be in ‘Super Mario Maker 3’, these enemies should be included in (both NES games) the first Super Mario Bros game - Swoopers, Blurps, Rip van Fish, Urchins, Spiny Cheep-Cheeps, Jelectros, Lava Lotus, Boss Bass, Fire Brothers, Boomerang Brothers, Sledge Brothers, Sumo Brother, Amazing Flying Hammer Brother, Charging Chucks, Banzai Bill, Missile Bills, Mega Moles, Nipper Plants, Firesnake, Hot Foot, Para-Beetles, Fire Chomps, Fishbones, Bony Beetles, Ball and Chains, Grinders, Eeries, Fishin’ Boo, Blarggs, the Big Boo, Rex, Dino Rhino, Dino-Torch, Spike (already said what enemy I mean, by that name), Thwimps, Angry Sun, Volcano Lotus, Mechakoopas, Roto-Discs, Hot Head, Lil’ Sparky, Porcupuffer and Torpedo Teds. Bosses included should be Reznor, Boom Boom, and the 7 Koopalings. Again, I’ve seen, on deviantart, what these enemies would have looked like, in the first NES SMB game (same with what the SMB2 enemies would have looked like, in the first NES SMB game).
Since the first Super Mario Maker game, we’ve seen Boos, Dry Bones, Bob-Ombs, Thwomps, Wigglers, Chain Chomps, Spine-Tops, Cannonballs, Munchers, Rocky Wrenches (and Monty Moles) and Rocket Engines, as well as Donut Lifts, in the first NES SMB game, and especially ghost house and airship levels.
Included in (as said above, additionally on the NES) Super Mario Bros 3 should be Sumo Brother, Amazing Flying Hammer Brother, Charging Chucks, Banzai Bill, Ball and Chains, Grinders, Hot Head, Lil’ Sparky, Mechakoopas, Dino Rhino, Dino-Torch, Swoopers, Blurps, Rip van Fish, Urchins, Porcupuffer, Fishbones, Bony Beetles, Thwimps, Torpedo Teds, Fishin’ Boo, Blarggs, the Big Boo, Eeries, Rex and Volcano Lotus. Innovations we got, to the above SNES game, in the first Super Mario Maker game, were (enemies) Cannonballs, Chain Chomps, Hammer Brothers, Rocky Wrenches and Rocket Engines, as well as Donut Lifts (and, of course, for what the SMB2 and SMB3 enemies would have looked like, in the SNES game Super Mario World, I saw on deviantart), and airship levels, in said SNES game.
Oh, and, in (on the NES) the first SMB game and (on the SNES) Super Mario World, quicksand should be included (since both games have lava in them, and the only game to have lava and quicksand, is the NES game SMB3). Just remembered - Bowser should be a boss, in (both versions - SNES All-Stars and NES) SMB2 (yes, deviantart’s where I saw what his sprite would have looked like, in SMB2).
Now sorry about the length of this comment, but (on top of the things we’d need, for should Nintendo elect to make a Super Mario Maker 3) I just thought of another feature - regarding that ‘earthquake’, that Roy and Ludwig make, in (on the NES) SMB3, when they land - this should additionally be in (additionally on the NES) the first SMB game, (both versions - SNES All-Stars and NES) SMB2 and (on the SNES) Super Mario World.

Wow; this is exactly what they should have done! (If you could do it, then why couldn't Nintendo do it? Love what you did witht he flagpole and exit mask) On the "Endless Challenge" and "Multiplayer" videos, hardly anyone is even using the SMB2 mushroom; they all stick with the Link one, and prefer the newer styles more anyway. All they do with SMB2 is ride on Banzai Bills, and I guess it quickly got boring. Someone should make a series with this one!

Additionally (more trouble Nintendo would have, including - and both versions - the 1993 SNES All-Stars remake, and the late 80s NES game - of SMB2) [off-subject, rumour has it that Princess, either Peach or Toadstool, is to have been inspired by the late Elizabeth Hulette, when she made her managing debut in the WWF] getting to the point, even if Nintendo did include both versions, of SMB2, in (if such a game does come out) Super Mario Maker 3, Nintendo’s trouble would be - she wasn’t playable in (both NES games) the first SMB game nor SMB3, nor was she playable in (this game was for the SNES) Super Mario World.
