- Our family of 12 on an after church adventure in West Village. Today we decided to get sushi. The older kids loved it, the little kids were a bit nervous (except Moses who is always willing to try new things.) I think I should have probably gotten just white rice for the little ones like Naomi suggested. But thankfully it was just a snack! Then we headed home for lunch which was a chicken quinoa crockpot casserole. The kids at that pretty well. I love making quinoa when possible because its really nutritious. #largefamilylife #nyc

Melody is like I was at that age. My family loved a fancy Japanese restaurant in our hometown and I would order a hamburger and fries every time! Now as an adult I love it!

Melody has gotten so much better about going down into the subway! Another wonderful Sunday adventure with the De La Motte’s.

We always do a “no thank you bite” which basically means they have to try all food and if they don’t like it they say “no thank you” and it works lol.

Mo is unusual for a baby. Most wont eat what's put in front of him. Hes a very good eater. Elijah such a good kid and son. He helps out so much. Never whining or complaining. Such a sweet kid

Just love watching your videos! As a New Yorker, I love watching you and your family explore all the wonders that the city holds. I think you should check out the Bronx children’s museum with the littles. I believe it’s free admission right now since it’s still in it’s initial opening period. Definitely a good option now that the cold weather is here. Finding fun places for kiddos to play and explore indoors without having to spend tons of money is always a win!

Food: "But at least you tried it". That, is a must in life. Can't knock it (food), until you at least try it. Even one bite. How else could you even possibly know? Sushi is fantastic only eaten one way really...piece of Sushi, with piece of ginger, with smidge of Wasabi, all dipped together as one bite into some soy sauce. Those flavors can't be beaten.

It’s a challenge! Our 9 year old on up are able to do their own laundry which is a huge blessing! I help with the little ones and the older kids’ laundry too when they are busy.

It just depends. Moses and Melody are always wanting to be on camera. My teens are sort of in and out of camera love so I just try to accommodate whatever mood they’re in. Marc doesn’t mind the camera but feels a little awkward talking to it. I think all of us are like that sometimes.

Teenagers require more calories. They are in a stage of rapid growth through early adulthood with a much higher metabolism that naturally demands more calories and nutrients. This is particularly true for boys who are developing more lean muscle mass. 😃
Well usually I would make sure he didn’t take as much, but the little kids weren’t very interested so there was plenty for him. With donuts it’s a different story!😅
This is also a great point! It was obvious from the video that the little ones weren't interested in the sushi. As old as I am, I must admit I am in their camp and would much prefer a good ol' peanut butter and jelly.😆@@TheHappyCaravan
Anyone with kids knows two things:
1) if the other kids wanted more food, you would have HEARD it from them
And
2) teenage boys and are bottomless pits. They would eat in their sleep if possible. 😊Another fun video Thanks for sharing the adventure.
