    How to Sculpt Wounds & Gashes - FREE CHAPTER
    Buy the FULL COURSE here: bit.ly/SculptFormsYT
    In this excerpt from "Sculpture Techniques - Textures & Forms," master creature effects sculptor Don Lanning (Star Trek: Beyond, Hellboy, Bright) reveals his highly effective approach to #sculpting wounds and gashes with clay.
    Starting with carving the rough shape of a wound, Lanning then shows you how to create a swelling effect by using a loop tool to sculpt dimension around the gash, and then how to deepen the wound, add fat, and give a grotesque shine with lip gloss.
    #MiniLesson Highlights:
    - Telling the "Story" of the Wound
    - Using Shadows to Sell Depth & Dimension
    - How to Create the Impact Point
    - Gross Out FX - Shining a Clay Wound with Lip Gloss

    I attended Savini's school and I wish I would've held out. The Stan Winston program is incredible. I have a couple of the DVDs and they have helped me through some difficult projects. They are a very important resource to have and anyone who is thinking of becoming an effects artist, sculptor, or anything behind the scenes, needs to get with this program.

    How old do you have to be to attend classes

    • @StanWinstonSchool
      @StanWinstonSchool  Před 2 lety

      Hi! Our courses span a wide range of techniques and are geared to varying levels of maturity and skill sets. We feel that even our most basic courses would probably require at least a 7th Grade (13-year-old) level of comprehension. If you are a parent with concerns about appropriate language and imagery (realistic depictions of gore, occasional adult language), it might be best to review specific courses before sharing them with your younger children. - Balázs
