This is an excellent video, i'm a BN S6 and this video is perfect for new soldiers to look at before coming in for training. Great work.

Good on you for teaching others. Here's a few things if you didn't already know.: FH is Frequency Hopping, SC is single channel, PT is plain Text (Unencrypted) , CT is Cypher Text (encrypted). I'm assuming you want the power on low for training?

Very well explained and yes something like that all the time, but hard to get in Germany that would be a nice small and solid device for on the go because normal HAM radios do not help with stability!

I used to use this same device in the Iraqi army and quit working with it because it is short range and now I use a radio DMR hytera Lightweight, long-range and encrypted

an easier way to line up the handset connector is there is a flat part on the connector that goes toward the top of the radio and should allow the connector to set down into the radio. Then twist to lock the bayonet. Good luck

You don't use saliva on the radio, it will wear out the O rings. Use chap stick.

Do you know if they sell or auction off old, or over stock of these or harris? Comsec has to be disabled before legal civilian sale, but how does one go about finding the unit in charge of old radio stock or surplus? Im just a military & radio admirer and feel that a rugged muliban manpack radio is more than capable of handling KY hiking and landscape. Much rather put my money into America products that support our military than some yeasu boafeng Chinese knock off crap possibly supporting their military. Just find it sad that these products aren't more available to Ham operators in American. It's not like ham operators are even asking for comsec or any encryption, just demilled rugged multiband American made hand held and manpack radio. I don't understand the issue with this... Any light shed upon this would be greatly appreciated 🙏

I've never used one but I've heard the civilian equivalent is an export version RT-1702E but I think it is sold to US citizens only.
