They do have the cover to Eldritch Wizardary page 507
I'd like to see what a quest against the Egg of Coot would be like.
@@horacioaugustofilho6487 Blackmoor was put into the past of the world of Mystara. There are 4 modules that are pretty cool. Even including the Egg of Coot. They go back like 3000 years until the Blackmoor Elves blew their part of the planet up. Great lore in all those modules.
Would love to see a remake book of the original rules 😊😊
Thanks for the look inside this book. I was curious about it, but doubtful that I could justify purchasing it myself.
Cheers!
It's a really cool book, but it's really hard to justify the price point. I used Birthday money to get it.
Thanks for the video! I appreciate a look inside!
Thanks for watching!
Shame that it's Wizards of the Coast who is publishing this book, I'd like to have this.
Super cool!
Thank you for sharing Dave. ❤
Thanks for watching!
Nice book, however WOTC's celebration of 50 years of Dungeons and Dragons is way too underwhelming for me with no reprints of the older editions such as AD&D 1e/2e or even Basic Expert rules. I suspect WOTC may be concerned that gamers may actually enjoy them even though they may make a substantial profit from sales of them. Thank you.
Old-School Essentials is one of the most well-stocked games at my local shop (although it and everything else is dwarfed by 5e by a large margin), so it's odd to me they haven't like just cleaned-up the Rules Cyclopedia, maybe switched out some of the art with a broad selection of their most iconic old-school pieces and maybe slapped on the intro adventure from BECMI Basic and the Immortals codex and released it as "Dungeon & Dragons Classic" or some-such. I don't think everyone would switch over or something, anymore than they did when they republished 1e and 2e during 3.5, but there is clearly a market for it now that they for some reason have been making no attempts at trying to capture.
WoTC: GARY IS RACIST! WE MUST ERASE HIM FROM D&D HISTORY!!
Also WoTC: Orcs are black people
Current era WOTC wont print or celebrate those, best you can get now is POD version. I'm waiting on Rob Kuntz history of D&D, not a white washed hack from WOTC
I really wanted to grab this but that $99 price is a non-starter right now. I'll keep an eye out to see if the price drops on Amazon. I'd even be happy with a Kindle version (which would probably be better for my back anyway LOL)
Yeah, it's not something to buy on impulse for sure. I preordered it as my Birthday present to myself. I'm sure in time it will come down, especially if it's at a major book store chain.
@@DravenSwiftbow I was hoping they may do a Kindle version. As much as I'd love to flip those pages physically, I'm not opposed to having it on a tablet for $20-30 either. It's how I've done a few other big coffee table art books that were over that $50 mark
Definitely great to see someone give Dave Arneson his due. His group being the first to use the chainmail system for individual combat. That's why he ended up with the rights to the becmi campaign world. It's just too bad they had to have a falling out over it and end up in court. Kind of showed Gygax in a different light also at the time. Blackmoor was Dave's group and ended up becoming part of the becmi world of Mystara. Very cool book. Looks like someone did a thorough job. The white books are rough to put together, but the Holmes beginning book was really rough. You can break your brain on that one. And yup, parents weren't too keen on the Eldritch Wizardry book. I had that one and it introduced Orcus and Demogorgon plus others. It was good to have parents with an open mind then.
Can’t be too controversial- the Conan board game from Monolith has practically the same cover.
… it’s just WotC being WotC 😜
If you mean the Eldritch Wizardry cover, it is supposedly on one of the pages Dave flipped over. I'm not sure what you mean by "the Conan board game from Monolith has practically the same cover". Any images I find of it just show Conan in the middle of a big fight with some reanimated skeletons, and not a naked woman's corpse tied to an altar.
@@Painocus nothing wrong with having a naked woman on the cover
