- I finally got to visit the famous Frank & Son Collectible Show thanks to @angellozamh last week while I was in LA!! It was so incredible to see so many toys and toy collectors all in one place! The prices, on the other hand, were generally not super amazing. Regardless it was really cool to see everything. I was a bit disappointed by the amount of dolls that were at the show.. I somewhat expected to see more! I ended up going home with some store displays, a Super Monkey Ball Figure, two 3DS games, 2 Disney Limited Edition dolls and 3 Godzilla Movie Monster Series figures!

As a fellow Gumby fan, the sightings of these is always so cool! The Gumby with the fabric body's a hand puppet, and the bendable next to the talking/hard plastic Gumby at 0:50 is more than likely worth what they're asking for! It's the very first bendable ever produced back in the...60's I believe? It was made before the well-known Lakeside ones! I own a couple loose and one new on a (destroyed) card! I also had no idea you knew about Starr! You're just as insane about (older) dolls as I am xD It's also funny how we're pretty close in age! I was born in '95! We're probably the only ones who know/care about older doll lines lmao! Also I can imagine how much they wanted for the Anastasia in the slim box at 25:00, since she was a mail away doll lol!
Oh yay you made it to Frank & Son! :D That LE booth is so good. I really enjoy grabbing stuff from PaulMart; that's my main reason for going. I did get a Scaris Catrine from that booth you found the doll bin in :) Also, I believe PaulMart gets things in early because he flies them in at extra cost rather than having them shipped by boat. This is why the website sells them for a bit of a markup, though the booth has 'em for retail price!
Your outfit is amazing Brooke! There might be a Gumby in a package someone sent to you. That place is incredible, it looks exactly like MegaCon, but all year i would be so poor....lol.

Freak Du Chic Draculara is typically 120-160 so the one you found is on the pricy side. But I will say those prices don’t include shipping cost or risk of damage or scams. If I had the money I probably woulda haggled or bought it cuz I really want that Drac 😩

Thank you for your honesty! I used to play trading card games like Yugioh, Pokémon etc and would go there to get cards. Since there were many vendors you could negotiate. I never bought figures or dolls because of the price. It’s definitely a nice place to check out but the prices are steep.
I think they must expect haggling? Which is fine. I haggled with two vendors and they were fair and cool but their prices were pretty okay to begin with 😭
The card area looked so chill! The card market has been wild lately so I didn’t even check prices. I saw lots of people trying to sell cards though!

Ahaha I always found that if something is consistently around I’m less likely to spend more? Not sure if that makes sense but there’s a comfort to it being there so I feel less rushed

Me and Brett have the same taste in games, the retro game market can be pretty ridiculous. Being a collector for anything these days has gotten ridiculous. I absolutely love you and Angel together!

35 dollars for MH in wrong outfits and yellowed heads?.... crazy. But still that's absolutely stunning place. The ponies, transformers and horror stuff and all these dolls and figures... omg omg omg!!!
9:18 I agree! You really need to watch Demon Slayer, it's so good! You're going to love it; I promise it is for you. The story starts quite gloomy, dark, and at times gory, but I promise the story turns around and becomes very heartwarming, comical, and goofy, but without losing its epicness. You won't regret it!

i get a bit of an upcharge on prices but to dubble the price of items that are curently instock i find that ridiculous. glad you were able to get some great deals on sone lovley dolls. who is the barbie next to your clara on the top shelf?
I'm personally not a big fan of Angel (due to various reasons and a recent situation making me unfollow him for real) but this video was very interesting!
I've never seen such a ginormous place filled with collectibles. Here in Belgium we don't even have the big flea markets you show often so this was nice to see! And all of the Disney LE's, I'm jealous 😭

I appreciate your going to this place. I only live 40 minutes from it but i would have to take a bus to get there. If the prices are too high i don't see the point if visiting m.

Do you ever see any of the old betty spaghetty dolls at these? I'm a huge s1 betty spaghetty collector and I'm having a hard time finding some of the rare pieces :'(

I love anime figures and the one play I buy them from is here and I try to be careful about people that up charge by checking online prices but where do you recommend buying them from if not here? Also love the Disney doll lady she usually has good deals and I got my rapunzel designer collection doll from her for Christmas 😋

He’s VERY into animation. I think his favorite Disney movie is actually 101 Dalmatians?? Might just be that era of animation. He praises Sleeping Beauty over all else. I think Rapunzel is his other favorite. Aurora got snubbed in her movie in a similar way to Tiana… lack of screentime as the actual princess which I assume hurts their popularity. Tiana is my favorite though :3
@@xCanadensis Thanks for letting me know! That’s cool that he’s very into animation. He has good taste. Is Aurora one of your favorite princesses too? That’s true, Aurora has the least amount of screen time of all the princesses. I think that her being put in a pink dress in marketing helps boost her popularity since pink is so many little girls favorite color.
My favorite princess is Ariel in case you wanted to know. I’ve even met her voice actress Jodi Benson six times!

Bestie I love your vids and I totally get the price debate but speaking out loud at the event about how overpriced things are feels kind of mean 😭😭 if a vendor overhears you it could really hurt, some people make a living off of this but some people just don't know better. Love from Canada though!!
They should definitely hear it lol. That’s why I say it. I tell them to their face that I appreciate the fair prices or tell them they’re idiots when they’re not.
When there’s vendors trying to pass off bootlegs and reshelled gameboys as legitimate, I’m gonna insult them. They know what they’re doing 🤷♀️ you can make a living without scamming/price gouging.
When I pointed an unmarked and overpriced reshelled gameboy out to one vendor he tried to justify the price for labor and said they’d always tell a customer before they purchased. But didn’t tell me until multiple questions in when I was testing them. There’s a lot of shady activity around toy and collectible shows. Pricing g3 monster high dolls like g1 in hopes that you scam a kid or new collector into thinking they found gold… in general pricing things unbelievably higher than they sell for online with no real justification needs to be pointed out. I wouldn’t have any issue with things being priced up as I specified at some point on screen but for things to be shockingly over the going rate for those items, nah. Ridiculous. Every vendor that had those sorts of prices had a pretty big, old looking booth. They know their tactics and that they’re being dishonest and shady. It’s very sad to see collectible markets consumed with hypebeasts and dishonest resellers like this. I had someone trying to justify the price of an ungraded, unsealed $800 gameboy game that doesn’t even go for that on eBay SEALED 😭
@@xCanadensis I totally get the dishonesty when it comes to trying to sell fakes and pass it off as real at a very unreasonable price! Personally, video games are completely out of my league (I have a 3DS I've owned since I was 6 and don't really have any other gaming platforms aside from a computer/switch). I also don't live in an area where there are huge community sales, which doesn't really happen in my area (it sucks and makes doll hunting literally impossible). I'm very passive and look at doll pricing at "second-hand sales" based on how much I'd PERSONALLY be willing to spend on it. Even if it's over the online price point the community is small enough here I just don't even care but that's definitely a regional/personality difference I suppose?
When it comes to very VERY old sellers it's definitely a gamble. They either know what they're doing or they don't. I'd be more likely to haggle with someone I can personally tell doesn't know the price at all than someone unreasonably snatching money off of me because it really won't do anything.
In conclusion, I'm a pansy I would just feel really bad talking about how bad someone's prices are when they're nearby ;)))
@@xCanadensis i do the same thing and I respect you immensely for it. there's this one booth at a flea market i go to that always tries to sell me obviously bootleg mlp toys by telling me theyre "collectible" and "rare". i don't say anything to his face cuz he isnt really price gouging, i mean i wouldnt pay $5 for a dirty and missing haired fakie but it's not like $20 at least, plus a flea market has a different vibe, but the lengths people will go to scam others is just gross. theyve clearly researched just enough to squeeze as much money as possible from someone less informed without recognizing their inferior product or ridiculous prices.
i agree with you on demon slayer, its not for me either. the art style and animation is great but its sooooo boring and i dont care about any of the characters LOL
