  • If your heat is on but the furnace is only blowing cool air there is a good chance you have a pilot light that is out. Watch our video on how to get that pilot light lit again so your heater actually ignites. For more DIY tips go to DIYDads.net

    Great Video. My furnace looked exactly like yours and I got my pilot light lit and heat working again without having to pay for a service call.

    Thank you for this video. I’m just intimidated enough that I’ll still call the repair person for my apartment. But at least now I’m sure the pilot light is my problem. Love hearing your little helper in the background too.

    This video helped me so much. I live by myself and I have no idea about stuff like this. I watched your video and it was so much more easier to do this, than reading those confusing instructions on the panel. Only took me about 5 minutes to figure this out without burning the house down.

    This was such a help. I’m a first-time home owner and it’s been years since I had to light a pilot light and needed a refresher. Thank you!!

    @mrlb9able Před 5 lety +7

    You have to set the switch too "off" first, wait five minutes for gas to dissipate, then switch to "pilot" and proceed with the lighting. Otherwise there could be a "kaboom" in the face. Just saying for safety's sake.

    My Honeywell is an older version...looks basically the same as the one here but has an electric pilot that glows hot and ignites the gas. Problem is the electric pilot doesn't glow anymore and I have to manually light the gas every time the furnace goes off. Could anyone let me know what to do? Can I just buy an electric pilot light replacement and install it myself?
