George Michael was a PHENOMENAL songwriter. So many performers today are just singing someone else's songs, but George wrote hit after hit when he was in Wham, and also during his solo career. RIP George... Thanks for all the great music you left us.
Good speech he was Phenomenal talented artist in the world.
Carless Whisper, Everything She Wants then Faith.
Always listen to Mom. Sounds like she'S A REAL SMART LADY. you kill me with your reactions. So full of joy
Thanks to your Mum!
Saw them in the 80's...The whole concert was at that energy level! Sorry that your generation missed out on this pure fun! It was just fun! All we did was DANCE! :-)
Surely one of the greatest pop songs ever written!!!
I always liked George singing Kissing a Fool.
So many hits
That’s one of my favorites!
"I'm Your Man" was a great Wham song and great video.
YES !!!!!
Yaaaaaassssss!
My fave Wham! Song
See "everything she wants", my favorite song.
Mine too
George Michael had one of the greatest voices ever. This was huge when I was a freshman in high school. I had a crush on Andrew Ridgley, the dark haired guitarist.
The one with no talent😒🎸
Became a auto racer after leaving wham!
And this was before auto tune was invented. Anyone who heard George Michael sing live was amazed to find that he sang perfectly even in concert. Listen to “Somebody to Love” with George Michael & Queen and you’ll see how amazing his voice is singing live. Or even “If you were my woman”
Now you've done it. This song is going to be in your head for the next 20 years.
Such a good song. This video is so iconic eighties, it was so much fun! He was such a cutie. 😍 I think you would like Careless Whisper. Great song too!
The irony is, he did end up going solo.
because andrew can do nothing... why should george partner with some one who is not talented..georege the one who did it all, he sings, he write all that damn songs... while andrew just being there, no singing, nothing
@@sven_urbanno need to hate on andrew like that
@@raisa2587yeah weren’t they like best friends that never really expected to blow up? The “other guy” still catching strays 40 years later lol
More Wham, please! Club Tropicana, Wham Rap, Bad Boys, Everything She Wants, Careless Whisper...on and on! I got to see them in concert when I was a kid, as well as one of George's solo tours. I was obsessed.
Great song suggestions! I saw George at Fulton County Stadium in Atlanta back in the late 80's. (October 20th 1988 to be exact) The band that opened for him that night was The Bangles. 🙂
@@gesundheit602 Bangles and George Michael. Can't go wrong. Susan Hoffs is still delicious
@@gesundheit602 fun fact. I just read that Susan Hoffs actually recorded "Eternal Flame" totally nude. The producer pranked her saying that Olivia Newton John did the same thing. It was a lie😂😂
@@rogerbraswelljr.923 Ha! Seriously? 😂
@@gesundheit602 Wow! cool, I loved them both. George was/is my idol, the best. Susannah was and is gorgeous and an amazing singer - the whole band were, plus great writers.
Loved his transformation from Wham,to George Micheal. I still jam his music. Rip to a legend! Great Reactions!
Baby George Michael. Had barely scratched the surface of his unbelievable talent. Such a fun song!!
Check out "Freedom" next. Wham were very catchy.
I agree with you. Wham's "Freedom" has the same fun bubblegum pop sound as "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go".
Check out 'Faith' first then 'Freedom! 90' then you'll make the connections between the visual imagery.
@@strawberryeyes3496 Am I the only one who likes the first "Freedom" better?
@@No1KCfan6 I'm sure you're not, it's still a great song 😉 Personally, for me, 'Freedom' is indicative and representative of Wham as a group and studio production. 'Freedom 90!', again for me, is much more indicative and representative of George Michael and his control over the production of his music and the sound and content he wanted to produce - it's a far more personal song sending out a message that Freedom 90! Is the real him, he didn't know the business when he started but he's learnt his lesson and is taking control now, he has his own sound and wants us to hear it and please don't give up on him. That's why I like the Freedom 90! It's basically a love letter to his fanbase saying he lost sight of himself and his music, let the business get the better of him, and asking his fans to stick by him while he takes this new direction.
“Everything She Wants” by Wham
George Michael, One More try, or listen to Faith and then Freedom 90 in that order if you really want to learn about George Michael and his evolution. You could do a George Michael Marathon, he's never written a bad song and was one of the greatest lyricists and vocalists of our era. RIP George Michael, you are missed.
George Michael huge catalog of great music started with Wham also massive solo career
That song never gets old!! Love it!!! RIP George!
George MIchael was a musical genius. Listen to mama, I'm 70 and still listen to his music My daughter got me into WHAM. I did like their songs, but I'm more into George as he grew. His "Older" album is wonderful. He not only wrote, produced all these songs, but did many of the music instruments for them. He wrote "Careless Whisper" and "Last Xmas" at 17 yrs. old. Loved his duets, Elton, Stevie, Aretha, ((won the grammy for best duet), Whitney, Beyonce, Queen, Pavaratti, Garth Brooks, but my all time fav is with Mary J. Blige "As". If you get a chance, read up on him. After he passed away, they found out he gave so much $$$ away anonymously. He helped many people including working in soup kitchens and shelters. He was a master class artist that was taken away from us much too soon. He had issues, but hey don't we all???
My mom got me on to alot of 80s songs growing up. Jayy, Mama does knows best! Whams song Freedom is also a fun, stays in your head song, to add to the react list. Plus the church organ playing at the the beginning of Whams Freedom is playin part of the song you reacted to Faith by solo George Michael!
George Michael. One More Try. His best song. Really shows off his range.
Absolutely
YES!!! His best song.
100%
How do you pick though? So many good songs in his catalog! One More Try is gorgeous.
Noooo not by a long shot
Girl that smile you have watching GM is one I had 1st time I seen this video on tv back in 80s.😍 My 1st guy crush that I still have to this day! Lol😉 RIP😇
You should listen to him do Somebody to love in tribute to Freddie Mercury. It was one of George’s favorite songs and he did a fantastic job. It was performed with Queen. ❤️❤️
Teenage me was totally in love with George Michael back in the 80s. Club Tropicana is another fun song of theirs and for a slower number, Careless Whisper.
This was their First "American" Hit. It was inspired by a Note Andrew left for his Mother that said "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go". Last Xmas is an institution in itself because it's played yearly on UK Soaps like Emmerdale. There was a hilarious fantasy sequence where Robert Sugden woke up over and over and heard a Salvation Army Band playing it. The Blond Haired Lady is Shirley Holliman who married Martin Kemp formerly of Spandau Ballet (True). They already were Stars Europe with Club Tropicana, Bad Boys, Wham Rap Enjoy What You Do, and Young Guns. They appeared on the UK Music Show Top of The Pops in 1982 and then in March 1983 they made their US Debut on American Bandstand.
I absolutely love wham! And of course George Michael as a solo artist. His music makes my heart sing.
George Michael and Elton John 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me' is gold. Wham: I'm Your Man is a bop.
Loved Wham and George Michael!! Great choice of song.
They have great moves love how you ate having fun with the song
You should check out Duran Duran and Culture Club. Quintessential 80's bands.
Yesss
Lyric came from a note George left for his mum that said "Wake me up before you go go!" He accidentally wrote go go twice and it was only later the young genius that he was thought "that would be a great song lyric!"
Good Reaction.
When George Michael went solo he made some of the greatest songs of all time.
" Jesus To A Child" " Cowboys And Angels" "Kissin' A Fool " "Desafinado".....just simply Beautiful and many others...
Momma Jayy has it goin on
This is great...and a WOW REACTION Sunshine💖💖
There’s an extraordinary song George did on his MTV Unplugged performance - “You Have Been Loved”.
I love seeing your joy as you listen to this. The songwriting is inspiring and his voice is perfect. Had this song on my mind for a few days and didn't remember (I was a kid when it came out) who sang it!
I think I smiled thru the whole song watching your reaction lol thx I needed that✌😃
Wham!
Wake me up before you go go
From the album Make it Big 1984👍
Remember Choose Life!
Those T-Shirts were big👍
I saw this performed live,
Sorry had to brag!😉
Check the song by Wham,I'm your Man!
Thanks for your video and memories 😊
“And somebody need to wake him up BTW,” lol I died
Kissing A Fool , Freedom , Father Figure... You'll love them! Great reactions!! Always TRUE!
I'm so happy, I think we've got another George Michael! I have to tell you if you don't already know that people on these reactions hearing George for the 1st time really are loving him, & rightly so. I only wish George was still here in the physical body to know all the new fans he has. Oh man, I bet he'd have the biggest smile on his face. He loved his fans so much. My suggestion for you would be TOO FUNKY. It's very upbeat and creative. I hope you try It, I think you're going to love it! Just so you know you know, you have 35+ fantastic years to catch up on. ENJOY EVERY MINUTE
Love this song, Andrew and George are so beautiful so talented
.....well George was....
i believe the back up singers were called Pepsi and Shirley if my memory is working
Yes that's right.. Shirley, the blonde one , married Martin kemp from spandau ballet.
Andrew ridgely is married to keren from bananarama.
Andrew (Ridgeley) is Keren's long-term partner, not married as such.
Imagine being on the set when shooting this video gosh the atmosphere must've been electric
Just a little suggestion for your reaction. Check out AS w/ George and Mary J Blige. Tell me you would absolutely really love to be at this club. I don't know if I could handle this much sexiness!
This song just makes you wanna dance. Every time!!!
I love Wham. I remember when this song first came out and went to #1 on the pop charts in the Fall of 1984. This song and Wham represented the best of bubblegum pop in the 1980s. For those couple of years, before George Michael went solo, they recorded many great songs. "Freedom" is another Wham song you should try. It's got that same type of bubblegum pop sound that I'm sure you'll love.
I went home on Christmas break the winter of 84, and when I came back to school in January, everyone had Wham and Tears For Fears t-shirts. Apparently I had missed the concert memo. 😆 I like George Michael's Freedom '90 way better than Wham's Freedom. That song has got me out of many a funk.
@@BDogg2023 George Michael's "Freedom" has more of a soul sound, which is good, but I personally prefer the fun bubblegum sound of Wham's "Freedom".
This so 80s....lol. Takes me back in time.
Edit: I'd suggest you check out Careless Whisper. I believe it's George Michael by himself. It's a beautiful ballad.
Would you believe my 82 year old Dad loved this song!
George Michael solo was definitely his best
This was Wham’s first big hit here in the states! They had songs before this but this was their monster breakthrough hit! Everything about this video screams eighties! I love it! Andrew is married to Karen of the group Bananarama!❤❤
Just a quality pop song. George was a true master. Smiling is part of the fun listening to Wham
Incredible artist. I can’t believe we wore those shorts though.
Your face says what this music was all about fun 80,s was great for fun music
Memories! My favorite song when I was 10 years old. Like we made dance routines and lip synched in the talent show level of favorite.
George Michael was pure talent and sexiness all rolled together!
Love your reaction to this song. Christopher Robertson has said that Andrew Ridgeley wrote most of the Wham! songs and not George Michael. Here's a quote from Andrew's book Wham! George & Me "In an attempt to accelerate the effort to achieve our goals, George was to take over all songwriting duties..." Andrew also says that after discussing it with George it was decided that George should write everything
Thanks SO much for taking me back 30yrs to a carefree time in my life!! 💃💃
"i'm in love." You are definitely barking up the wrong tree.
I meant with the song lol I’m aware of his sexual orientation but this made me laugh
This was The Motown sound just done in a '80s pop song form.
This one of my favorites growing up
I'm thinking it's time for a George Michael marathon! Too much fantastic material. One of the best singer/ songwriters of all time. You can't miss with anything he's done. Freedom 90, Kissing a Fool, Everything She Wants, Careless Whisper, Amazing, Faith, One More Try, etc etc etc!
Love George Micheal! My very favorite is "Hard day" the bass is amazing !
From England my fav song before going night clubbing Is Wham CLUB TROPICANA
I'M now 60yrs but in my 20s in the 80s
those horns are rockin...
I think I need to hang out with your mom. She loves all the songs I love.
This is what we love! You go from Beasties to Wham! Awesome!
I loved you review. This song is so catchy, that I noticed you were hooked before they finished the first line. Almost forty years later, I still like this song.
Ahh the 80's!! I had those same blue and white shorts. 😆❤
Girl! Your smile is beautiful! You truly made my day! Much love to you! 😍😍😍
He wrote this song. He said that Andrew left a note on his door for his mother to wake him up when she was going to work. George went over to Andrew's house and saw the note. Rest is history.
Try “I’m your man”. It has the same happy beat.
You can get the ring tone George michael was a genius he went solo and ruled the world with Faith gorgeous handsome with a fantastic voice just love him
Bouncy fun song!
You can set your phone to wake up to this song! This is what I wake up to!!
Great song writer - died on Christmas day in 2016 and then tragically his sister also died a few years later on Christmas day also!
I started singing this as soon as it came on, my bf thinks I'm crazy... Oh let's be real he be knowing I'm cra-cra!! 😁🙃😉
Freedom and Careless Whisper if I had to pick some reactions. Loved this!! ❤
Wham songs to react to: Credit Card Baby, Everything She Wants, Careless Whisper and The Edge of Heaven!
My mom is 74 and LOVES this song
You got the vibe! You on it

I loved Wham! I’ll admit it that’s rock ‘n’ roll heavy-metal girl loved Wham! Duran Duran also lol I mean I think I was 12 when this came out. This video had some heavy rotation on MTV back in the day
This song will be playd at my Funeral🤣
def their quintessential song but my personal fave is Wham Rap.
The original Carlton dance💕
Stumbled acrossed this. Love ya. We should all work together to bring that vibe back.
thank you form Norway :)
Jayy you reacted to Goerge Micheal ( faith)....wham was the group he was in before going solo.
5:34 There actually is a way to download songs and set your own ring tones on an iPhone. However, it may be complicated if you're not tech savvy. I didn't have to jailbreak my phone to do it. I have the 12.
My sister had posters of Wham in our room. She liked Andrew. We continue to be big fans of George when he went solo. RIP George Michael. I still heart broken 😞. Good times as teen in 80’s. I was more of Duran Duran fan.
you gotta check out " everything she wants"... this one of those songs I know us subscribers been hounding u about ..
80s music is such a vibe
George was a genius and gorgeous and handsome I just love him
i wish somebody would react to I'm Your Man by WHAM. it is George at his hottest!
